How often has promoting a club junior to become Manager in the modern day Premier League actually worked out as I seem to recall them all ending in tears. One hears about our 'DNA' and 'Identity' etc etc, however I have not formulated in my mind what this specifically means when applied to the club.

I think that rather makes the point that Rodgers, is a competent manager ,coach. Leicester were going backwards he kept them top ten, and European competition. . Klopp has asserted that he is only Liverpool manager at present because of past glories. As per Leicester he has players who have not performed as before, due to the advancement of age, injuries etc etc, and a significant re-building job is required at the end of the season. Apropos Rodgers, he has managed both Liverpool and Celtic, he has guided Leicester to 2 top 5 finishes.Does one really think he would be remotely interested in taking up the cudgel at our club ?

Well you’re asking another question there the answer has to be ,who knows, One way or the other ,it doesn’t alter whether he was worthy of the post. It seems we can both see he can’t be a bad manager /coach.

I see quite a few mentions of Palace's DNA but I'm not sure what people mean My point being that whoever you apportion the blame, it hasn’t worked. I’m certainly not suggesting that Paddy is ready for the top coaching / manager job, but I am speculating that he could be Assistant Manager post Roy. As for the DNA piece, well I’ve always associated the club with being ‘ underdog, gate crashers ‘ types not just Fancy Dans. We’ve become too nice to play against.

Re Rodgers, Celtic and Liverpool were huge clubs. But in the distant past for him. I don’t think any of the big clubs, and I’m talking top 6, are going to be interested in him. And I doubt if he views the funding potential at Palace to be of interest. Shame because I think he could be a good fit .

They've sold players for £50+m repeatedly, without replacement. Last season they only signed Faes at CB and a backup keeper. Bare in mind they let Fofana leave for £75m. Maddison will leave this summer, and they'll have no star names left. Like us, they seem to have zero money. You could tell Rogers was desperate to be sacked before the world cup, but the speculation at the time was that they couldn't afford to pay him off. I don't understand how a club like Leicester have no money. Where does the tens of millions of pounds go?] Rebecca Vardy?

Vociferous local support with zero media attention? Bullish defence, little possession, rapid counter through lightning quick wings? Last on MOTD?

You are the wisest commentator on matters Palace Willo! In terms of Palace DNA, the only thing I can tell you is that from my point of view, the way Palace played against Leicester was 'the Palace DNA. ' Only don't ask me to define it!

Can see potter going to west ham in the summer. We might go in for Moyes if Zaha leaves...

That's what palace DNA means to me, fast tricky wide men. But more widely DNA is overused, because in reality it doesn't mean anything. Teams generate ways of playing that work for periods of time. But I'd go so far to say that Barcelona are the only team that has a recognisable DNA that can be articulated.

Of all your years watching palace, how would you describe us? For me, we use local talent and players with a point to prove - we are in touch with our roots and have a good relationship with the fans. We like a bargain and at times can upset the big boys. That translates to a good scouting network, academy. It translates to a manager that gets what the fans are thinking and a chairman that is upfront. We aren't corporate.

Hasenhuttl for me. I like the way he gets his teams to play. Maybe Potter but he has been massively found out at Chelsea.
