Even if it doesnt come off, it will defo have been worth it, and it wouldn't have been a waste of time. Cabaye is a genuine top 10 maybe top 6 player, and its accordingly much more difficult to sign a player like that. Better to have tried and failed, than never to have tried at all. Best of all of course is to succeed!

Sometimes these things take a long time, and that's with the biggest clubs in the world. If it's the right thing for all, then it will happen. If not... Let's hope there's a plan B.

Look at the De Gea / Ramos transfers, Gareth Bale previously. Sometimes these things take a long time, and that's with the biggest clubs in the world.

If it's the right thing for all, then it will happen. If not... Let's hope there's a plan B.

Sadly i believe this is exactly what he is doing. As mentioned earlier he is easily a top 8 player and at the moment we are not a top 8 team. I suspect someone else will seal this transfer but it was nice to be involved in the running. On to the next one!!

Going to Man Ure with a manager who clearly doesn't know what he's doing and would be unlikely to give Cabaye the games he needs would be an odd choice given that he could play for a manager he likes in AP and be virtually guaranteed game time. If he's genuine in his desire to regain a place in the French squad then it would appear to be a no-brainer. Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!
