The media "outrage" has been every bit as fierce as if it had been a Republican!. For instance, it's the lead story in the BBC's Us & Canada's section. If you read the transcript of what he said and see it in the context of the interview as a reaction from some goading from the interviewer then it doesn't seem too bad. It was more a comparison of how Trump might have responded to the questioning than anything else. It's when you take it out of context that it can be made to sound bad.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Increasingly convinced that come November, Biden will not be the one standing against Trump. His complete unsuitability for an election campaign is becoming more apparent by the day.

The Democrats clearly have a candidate lined up that they cannot get through the normal primary process. Biden will be diagnosed with an illness and they will parachute this person in.
