Conservatives are polling at about 15% for people under 50... I don't expect we will be seeing them back in power for a while longer than 4 years. It's not surprising they are complacent when they get a guaranteed vote from a percentage of the electorate regardless of how bad they f*** things up. Edited by EverybodyDannsNow (16 Feb 2024 5.48pm) Whilst possible, four years is a long time. The test cricket saying of not being able to assess a surface properly until both sides have batted on it once seems relevant here. Assuming Labour get in, will they play the economic and socio-political cards they have been dealt any better overall than the current administration? You would like to think so but let's see.

This is the point. There is no difference what so ever. Literally a brand change but beyond that?

Starmer is just yet another in the long line of middle class anti white champagne commies that make up the Labour establishment.....which is very similar to our civil service. Would have locked down harder, would have locked down that last Christmas.....The man is a walking nap and would lie about anything to gain power. Economically he'll be even worse than the Tories....and that'll be quite some achievement. Edited by Stirlingsays (16 Feb 2024 7.59pm)

And Sunak has been then to cause the Tories to implode by way of allowing it. Both US state department stooges.

All the theories in the world cannot disguise the truth. The reason we will see a Labour government is the same reason we got Brexit. Those who promise change will always be more popular than those having to actually manage reality whenever there are difficult circumstances. In a booming economy, however it arrives, more of the same works. In troubled times greener grass does. The Tories have faced the banking crisis, the Brexit disaster, the pandemic and Putin. That they have contributed to the difficulties with their internal divisions and choosing wholly unsuitable leaders are sideshows. They would be on the way out of the door without any of their own efforts at making things worse. They need to regroup, dump the right, and let Reform speak for them. I have no expectation of any major improvement under Labour. We live in troubled times that would challenge anyone. I forsee the probability of smaller parties and coalitions in the coming decades. Coalitions that will likely include Reform sometimes and the Liberals at others. Which is all to the good because then the electorate will see what they can do with a hand on a lever of power and not simply mouthing things off from a soapbox. Or GBNews. I can even imagine a grand coalition of Labour and a Tory party reborn without its right .

Those who will not vote Labour have a dilemma. No one knows how many former Labour voters will vote Reform. Protest votes usually fade away in a GE, so the calculation is whether to risk voting Reform in the hope of a few shock wins and the potential of a real alternative going forward, or stick with the Tories in order to avoid a massive Labour landslide. A Labour government seems inevitable, but their traditional incompetence should only see them do one term. Is this the time for a political earthquake, or do we just accept the disastrous two party system for decades to come? How much worse does this country have to get before we rebel?

And I speak as an ex-member of the party and who has voted for them in every general election. They are s***. Piss poor at governing. An utter farce on every conceivable level. With almost ALL this woke s*** coming into play when they were at the helm. A literal invasion taking place and they are the f***ers meant to be guarding the gates. They deserve wiping out forever. They are NOT any kind of solution.

However, more than happy to be slated on this because it still feels so odd but part of me cannot help but think that we on the Right are perhaps still to immersed in 20th century notions of what nationalism truly means. But this is a Work in Progress for me so my logic, even in my own mind, still a little bit foggy.
