Whatever way you choose to look at it our strongest starting eleven is now weaker sure its nice to have money in the bank but I thought Mr Wan Bissaka kept us in games we would have other wise lost. stuck up here with a load of northern monkeys!

It's Utd who are taking the risk here, on a player who (so far) has had one good season in the Premiership. Ideally, I'd have liked him to stay another season but, blimey, if a club like ours gets offered this much, it'd be absolutely nuts to turn it down.

If it does turn out to be nearer 60 than 50, I reckon Parish has done a good bit of business there.

I agree that the concern is what we do with any funds made available by selling AWB.

I think people have to accept that the offer was too good to turn down. And once the player himself wanted the move it was the point of no return.

Trying to be positive - when Clyne left he played in every game that season and was Player of the Year. His replacement was Joel Ward. I think Joel has been an excellent signing for our club. Maybe not as good as Clyne but a very capable replacement all the same.

More likely that we'll spend part of the AWB cash and keep the rest to cover the money we're hemorrhaging on wages

There is no way we would sell AWB just to spend the money on players.
That money will either go mostly on wages or in the pockets of shareholders.

If they want the money back they’ve spent recently then there’s nothing we can do about it.

2 mistakes have been made by cpfc.

1. Poor scouting and buying £30 mil players and paying them £100-£130k.

2. These US shareholders. Although it’s possible we could’ve been relegated without them. The scouting etc was poor before they came in.

Everything stems from there and we need to address these and the wage bill. Harsh reality but if we can stay up rather than letting fate decide for us then we could remain in the division longer than the others. It has to be addressed before it takes hold of us. I know you have trouble coming to terms with this but you’ll get through the 5 stages, beginning with denial.

This is bang on, if anything your statement is naive tmj, we have sold an academy player with 18 months experience for 50 million ins position that we could get an adequate replacement in for a decent amount and still have enough to address the gaps in the rest of the team.

£55m is a world record fee for a full-back. The test of whether it's a good move surely comes when Palace spend the money. I think it would have made more sense to buy first. This transfer has been on the cards for a long time.
