Keep 6 clean sheets last season. He conceded 25 goals just 16 games.

£3m for a decent back up gk makes good sense. We are obviously trying to bring in extra strength across the squad (Riederwald, Chambers, maybe martins, etc etc) so this seems a good low cost option

Had a bit of a mare to start the season but should have returned to the first team far sooner than he did. Once brought back he played well and looked like the player they had two seasons ago. If we can bring him in for anything like the money we're talking then that is fantastic business. We have a lot more players to bring in this window...Penny-pinching - as you call it may allow us to get more through the door.
