Maybe you are right Nige For my part the way I see this: We agreed personal terms with the player, which took a long time as it was complex and LOADS of money, plus he has a dodgy agent Then having done that we engage with the club. Fancy that, the club is holding out a while to get a good deal. Seems to me that getting the player lined up first was the right thing to do. Liverpool are now in a position where it would be hard to hang on to him and don't think there could be another suitor so advanced as the mighty Eagles. Liverpool will want to tie this up once they have done all they can in the negotiations. I do reckon this will happen and by the end of the week. Still, wadda I know? Yours faithfully Nigey boy

im not suprised this is taking ages to complete samecthing happened last year with johan kebab, you sign class players theres a lot more baggage to sort out in the process. Out of sheer boredom and because I have nothing better to do I went back and checked the Cabaye thread. It started on 28 April and was locked on 10 July after 92 pages. That's two and a half months. I think we should be patient this may run for a while yet.

Has he scored 49 goals in 100 for another Prem club that was actually very sh1t during most of that time but now could be available once player has gotten used to the fact he doesn't fit and isn't wanted by a word famous club. No, Gayle hasn't. He will do well in a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 type formation in the champ. Hey, you asked.

He was at the euros so that's why his on holiday.

He will sign for someone. I suppose the agent advising that he will stay is because Liverpool are potentially pricing Benteke out of a deal.

And BTW, who wants to pay 120k a week to someone who is on holiday and can't even be with the preseason camp? Nahhhh....f^ck-it...let him stay at Liverpool and let him train with them for 120k a week until the season starts. Then let him enjoy the Liverpool bench and see if we can't pick him up for 25million either in August or January. And don't forget, every 4 weeks of 120k is just 20k shy of 1 million. Nahhh...pity...but we want to keep our financial strength. Someone like a Defoe or a Charlie Austin or both! And we'll still be pushing for Europe...so...F-OFF Liverpool. Charlie Austin? Really? I bet Southampton will give him away to get him off their wage bill!

The deal seems dead in the water because Liverpool demand full reimbursement of their outlay, which no club in their right mind, including ourselves, are willing to pay. Time to move on as I am sure SP and the board are doing so.
