I don't see how we can lose from signing him, even he turns out to be crap. The knowledge and experience he can pass onto a young squad could be invaluable.

If you go back through the thread (granted, it's a long one now) it has been made clear that Davids has said he's not in it for the cash - just wants to live in London as part of a change of lifestyle. Hasn't bothered to get a club for a couple of years, so clearly isn't desparate for cash.
