I'd also like to pass on my thoughts at this difficult time for Geoff!

He was a true legend. Gave 100% everytime he played and will no doubt beat this problem with the same determination he showed week in week out on the pitch.

Get well soon Geoff!

You will be pleased to know that the club have arranged for the charity Leukaemia Research to be at the open day on August 2nd. This will be a great chance for the Palace fans to do something for Geoff and all others who suffer from this awful disease.

I spoke with Geoff today and he is delighted to hear about this and is very pleased that the club are going ahead with this fundraising. Geoff's treatment is on going and I'll keep you all up to date with news about his recovery.

Thanks again for these great messages - we really are the best fans in the world!

It's awfull news. Top bloke and one of the first players i ever remember from when i was a little kid.
I remember when he said in the paper how gratefull he was to palace fans after the last game against Crewe were he came on as sub and everyone gave him a standing ovation.
Hope he gets well soon and i wish him and his family all the best.

I was in the middle of trying to organise a meeting and playing office politics when i got the news on the wap service. As you get caught up and lost in your own little world its so easy to forget what really matters in life - the people that you love and the experiences that have made you happy.

Watching Palace in my teens and 20s was the weekly highlight like no other, and Geoff Thomas was a key part of that. The friends I made during that time will be with me for life, as will the memories of the trips to Villa Park and Wembley.

What a captain, what a leader. Geoff's positive fighting spirit was an inspiration to me , and if you are picking up these messages then I hope that we can go some way in paying back that inspiration and lead you on to a quick and complete recovery.

This is sad news, but dont let us wallow - let recovery be the next great achievement.

Good sentiment.

Let's all be positive about this - more good memories and humour will give Geoff the lift he needs to recover in the fastest possible time!

Remember the look of surprise on Geoff's face when he turned to show the silverware to the Everton end in the ZDS and they'd all buggered off! A classic.

As a convert to Palace in the late 80's early 90's, I watched Geoff Thomas work his socks off and drive a team that thrived on togetherness. Now we(the Palace faithful) hope that our best wishes will do for you what you did for all of us.

Good luck to you and your family.
