I can believe it, because I think it struck a nerve.

My argument carries a great deal of validity - because I've made a number of points that nobody has been able to answer.

My intenion was not to extrat a reply from Mr Parish - just to express my opinion, which I have done. The only reason I have continued to repeat certain aspects of my opinon is that people have criticised without being able to answer my points.

The facts are there for all to see.

I believe Mr Parish's invitation was a genuine one as well - as I've already explained to him in person - I don't want to waste his time asking him the same questions I've already asked. I've also said that we need to move on now. However, if other posters continue to challenge my opinion - I have every right to continue my discussions further, just as you have the right to either ignore them or enter into them.

I'm not challenging Mr Parish to come on here again or to answer me further - I think I've learned all I need to from what he has had to say so far. I'm disappointed with some of it - that's just the way it goes.

If you intention wasn't to extract a reply, why put it on a QUESTION AND ANSWER thread?Listen, I think you made your points and it is fair for you to disagree with the decision. I think Steve answered your arguments pretty well and from mostly agreeing with you yesterday I can say it helped that he was pretty blunt in what he said about our current situation.

For me, the key word in his reply was "progress" . Like you, I think a manager can need a long time to shape a squad to the way he wants to play, but even if the results aren't there, there must be a sign that continual progress is being made. We have had a number of false dawns this season and, for me, there was simple too much fear and not enough urgency in many of our displays.

I badly wanted it to turn around. I think a fully confident squad could have thrived under a fully confident Burley, but it wasn't to be.

Point taken - but by the time I discussed the content of the session, I was under the impression it had finished and was purely intenting to talke about the questions - not to prolong them.

His bluntness was good, in so far as we can be fairly certain we know his opinion - I was just a little mystified by some of his answers and disappointed by some that didn't come.

You are right though - we are essentially in agreement that we need a progressive appointment as soon as possible. Whilst I'll remain frustrated by recent events, change always brings its own excitement and I'll certainly be taking a great interest in the search for a new manager.

Fair summary. I think it worked out for the best in the end. The more opinions that are expressed, the more depth there was to the discussion and that final answer was a very good way to round off the Q and A anyway.

Burley has gone.

Parish has come on here and told us why.

Dougie is in charge tomorrow.

A new manager will be in place as soon as 2010 can get the right one for them.

For me, that's it, enough said.

Time to move on, go to the game tomorrow and give it everything we've got. Then get behind the new guy, whoever it is.

Can we get back to what the thread is about, and not certain fans continually slagging each other off, and also, some of the stupid posts that have been posted IMO.

1.Whilst we need stability will you be looking for a more experianced Manager who will command the respect of the players and be given time & money to shape his own squad. We also need to keep some of the backroom staff as well. Dougie is one for the future and should be allowed to learn his trade with us, as he does know the club and has the respect of the players. It was also a good move to appoint Steve Kember as Chief Scout.(Possible long term planning)

2.The youth players that we have that have come into the squad have done well. Is it the boards plan to give these players medium to long term contracts to also give us stability and a good long term future.
To many times we have sold players just for that extra bit of cash. Two examples John Bostock who is going on loan to all sorts of clubs, and Wayne Routledge who has now had more clubs that Arnold Palmer, and he is still young. They should have been encouraged to stay at Palace.

3.It's about time Palace started to realise it's potential as a medium to big club. There is huge potential to attract fans going south from Croydon. What plans do you have to attract more fans.

4.Your comparing our wage bill to Doncaster, Swansea, etc.We are better than that and looking at the division as a whole we are one of the bigger teams (Although you wouldn't think so at the moment).Do you have a wage structure in place that will attract the right sort of players, and maybe reward them for success within that structure.

5.I know that you are working on this, but how far down the line are you with making the club shop larger and more inviting, with out fans bumping into each other at every turn. Also when i go into shops in Crawley, Horsham, etc,I see other clubs merchandise. What plans are there to possibly get our merchandise into some of these outlets. I know The previous chairman was against this, but I feel that was a big mistake.

6. Whilst it's a sensitive point about naming a Manager, and we will all find out in due course. I do think, that Managing Palace is a very attractive position.I have read that you have already received 10 enquiries,so, do you believe that an established Manager will move Palace forward in the direction that you are looking to go.

Just a thought and not to start a tit for tat argument, but is it not also a bad decision to keep a manager after 1 good performance? Say we beat Millwall yesterday, could you honestly see us winning 3 out of our next 4?

I don't think it's completely knee jerk, you can't keep losing 3-0+ over and over again and say it was bad luck/injuries/small squad. Norwich came up this season, signed a couple of decent players but had FIVE (I think) first team players out yesterday. They had to play 4 strikers on the pitch and how did they get on?

It would be knee jerk if we had won all our Christmas games, conceded 1 goal in the games, then went to the scum and got spanked. I think our negative (and shocking amount conceeded) goal difference, losses and manner of losing games is the reason. There is always going to be that 1 game that seals someones fate

For f*cks sake Murray!!

This thread sums up perfectly why I don't like the "open environment" of club management we have entered.

I prefer the good old days of a press release and statement.

I appreciate what CPFC2010 are doing for the club and think they made the right decision but as owners they don't need to justify themselves to a lot of jumped up idiots and, quite honestly, I wish they wouldn't.

I know I'm pretty much alone in THAT thinking.

That's kinda my point of view, too.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Yeah I sort of agree, it's great that they take the time to talk to us, but some one always has to ruin it!
