Apparently James Scowcroft has just tweeted that its Howe. I agree regarding he (or whoever) will need to be given time; if we go down then we go down.

We MUST give the guy a chance; the foundations as far as the squad and the acadmey are 80% there; his teams play football the right way. All he needs is time.

How does he know?

Just spoke to my brother, his girlfriends mum is the manager of the bars/catering at AFC Bournemouth and he's the manager of a bookies just down the road from the ground (Kinson if anyone knows the area) ......bit of cliché on the Holmesdale I know...

and he doesn't think its going to happen, he's been down the club today and spoken to a couple of people who should be "in the know" and they don't think he will be leaving

I then hung up on him in anger....fingers crossed still just watched his interview on south today and he did act a bit sheepish with his answers

Informative post Andy.
We will see.

We know he's favourite! Doesn't mean he'll end up with you though. She says hopefully.

Like Burley was given time? Makes no sense getting rid of one manager to avoid relegation then let another take us down.

To be fair, Scowcroft's as well connected as Heather Mills' real left foot.

Everything I've heard about Eddie Howe fills me with confidence and he is everything that a club like ours should be looking for as the foundation stone of a long term strategy.

All that worries me is that he is completely Bournemouth-shaped - all his achievements are with one club and one club only. His loyalties are firmly rooted there. Apart from looking at his evident quality achievements there, can we reasonably expect him to translate all that to us? On paper, he looks absolutely the real deal but would he struggle away from his own environment?

Thats an excellent point Cucking. Hugely intelligent that I am (you should see the size of my spam) I hadn't thought of that.
It will be quite a transition period for him too bearing in mind that Bournemouth is the only club he's ever been at and the style, tactics, formation, etc will be different to what he is used to.
In my mind this sets a good/great manager asside from an average one. Someone that can walk into an unknown environment with players he doesn't know and still hit the ground running.

Regardless of his amazing achievements at Bournemouth so far, hiring Howe in our present position is a risky game - no doubt about that. But if you're going to take a punt on a young, inexperienced manager who might just turn out to be the dogs danglies, then he has to be top of the list.

People are saying he has no Championshp experience, but it must have crossed everyones mind that he will be suitably placed to take a team up from League 1. I know we don't want to go there, but it will be an insurance policy incase the worst does happen.

So heart warming to hear that Coppell is advising CPFC2010 in the whole process, even if it means he won't get the job himself - can that man be any more of a God to us?

It would be a great idea if Howe does get the job, that Coppell hovers in the background, giving unobtrusive but valuable advice to the new young manager. He would be the perfect man to do that, without ego and in the very best interests of Howe and Palace.

We will see.

If he was that committed, he also would've used the interview to say he was staying. Any manager who says they're focusing on the game and doesn't rule it out, is interested.

There was no point giving Burley anymore time, we were getting worse and his style of footbal did not suit the players.
