evil stuff.
had erased this from memory.
was known as 'spine remover' as after 4 pints felt like you had no way of standing upright.

Personally, I would like to kick the idea of fashion out of this planet.

Everyone wears what they want looks like they want with no pressure from anyone. You may laugh at what someone else is wearing but not because it's not the 'in thing'.

Kick the fashion industry for six.

The only pressure there is; wearing certain clothes at certain places. ie 'collar & tie' at some workplaces, that's not fashion its rules of what to wear and not to.

I went to Wembley the other night with Danincyp and another mate, the three of us in our 40's all had the same blue Adidas suede Samba's on! I've got 3 pairs them, a pair of Gazelles and my favourite Italia's.
My son (19) has a ton of Lyle & Scott for golf.
My favourite clothes to wear to Palace on a Saturday were Lois cords (cut at the sides over trainers), Gee2 white t-shirt, Pringle jumper and Sambas.

Happy colourful days.

When i see him, it's gonna be painful. Skinny little cont.

I spent approx 1977-83,maybe later (very approx!) working in the menswear trade.
worked in croydon shops & as a relief manager in eltham, orpington, bromley)
also used to earn extra as the window dressers 'boy'
helping with ironing & general presentation of gear.
said window dresser used to do a lot of west end shops & the yearly earls ct.show.
even then I'd be ironing silk shirts at over a ton, croc.belts selling @ £200.
used to be a real buzz about fashion high street trade, but cheaper gear such as Farah used to sell by the bucket.
blokes would come into shop for blue strides & walk out in burgundy, because that was all was left and they wanted farah slacks for the night out.
Waffle jumpers, peg trousers, jam shoes, box jackets, gabbicci, lois, brittannia jeans, pierre cardan.(scuse spelling)
funny thing was, after all that schmuter everyday, i just wore filthy jeans & tshirts when i got in, maybe fred perry, lois.
Working as a painter now,its the opposite after work.
Had the keys to several shops & would lie to women at bars , telling them it was my place.
Have probably got laid in half in the menswear gaffs in Croydon!

Apollo sand boots.

My quintessential 1980's poseur outfit consisted of a Blue/beige Fila bj Bjorn Borg trackie top, a Lacoste rolly neck extra tight, Fiorucci pale faded jeans, splits and centre seems, sand boots/Diadora Elite/Blue Gazelles or Adidas Munchen/Trim Trab footwear.

I still have two of my Sergio T tracksuits from the 80's (Though they must have shrunk in the wash as they no longer fit). But my daughters now want to wear them.

I have only just thrown away my Leather Hunter Jacket

I once paid £30 for a pair of wollen Lyle and Scott socks. From a small mens shop in Bromley North.

I loved the fact that by the late 80's all that gear was being worn on the building sites and covered in paint and plaster. Now that original stuff is on e-bay and going for a fortune. Loadssss of money
