This post has been merged from a topic called 'Ashley Cole (Daily Mail)' by Moose The agent comments are very interesting, usually you would get he's going nowhere but with the agent slamming the rumour and having sympathy for us fans is very unusual and possibly tells me that Cole really does have a strong affection towards us which he has stated in the past and is very unhappy with the rumours so much so that he has his agent put out the response with such harsh comments. Although he isn't coming it's nice to know footballers and especially top footballers still have a connection with certain clubs instead of just money if I've come to the right conclusion.

Wouldn't get excited about any rumour or speculation, until they are holding up the shirt at the training ground. January is a cold, dark month and what makes it easier to tolerate is getting excited over rumours and speculation

Freedman not leaving a job half done springs to mind. Can't see it happening but would be a statement of intent.

would at least mean we cab play Ward at RB. I used to play RB and I hated being stuck at LB with no left foot, because as a fullback you're going to be better than the next best person who gets your RB position.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Ashley Cole' by Moose Not sure about the Mirror's figures..£35K pw after tax in Italy..I thought he was on 4m Euros a year..pos after tax and if not the highest rate in Italy for tax is lower than UK. Then they say he would have to take significantly less..than £35K a week after tax..erm...£40K is about our normal ceiling..for Ashley Cole on a freebie..£60K pw before tax would surely be done. The quotes before were £80K a week. No disrespect to any of our squad but this is Ashley Cole!
