None of the above. I'd be the first to accept that the atmosphere when we play the small teams isnt often good. We are expected to win and having experienced so many big games at the bridge playing palace isnt a big motivation for many fans. Of course for you it was a massive game! Atmosphere varies depending on the team and stature of the match. I am sure if you were to play your equivalent, of say, grimsby the atmosphere wouldnt be great either LOL

Mourinho said it himself, the support in the ground isn't good. If you just go to matches with the expectation of winning, I feel sorry for you. Winning all the time certainly doesn't make football more enjoyable. I discovered that last year when our atmosphere's suffered when we were winning and scoring tonnes. Came out of games not feeling all that good because I was disappointed in our Atmosphere, but also because I got used to winning and no longer felt the same relief when we scored or came away with a result.

As to the things you mention, I doubt they were any better than:

Wembley last year

The Amex in the playoffs last year (as a club without any proper rivals, you won't ever appreciate a night like that)

Hillsborough 2010 (unlikely you can have been to a game as important to you as this was to us)

Protests at LLoyds and Selhurst (Knowing your club has been saved is better than any game)

And there are plenty more

Our massive games this season are against our relegation rivals and as a club with a relatively low % of deluded supporters, we all know this is true. The money (dont accept the dirty money nonsense) from our owner undoubtedly started the process but now we generate huge amounts of money ourselves. This grows yearly and puts us presently 5th in the money stakes world wide(as mentioned in an earlier posting). Like all businesses you have to invest initially and make loses before you see the profits of your investment. That investment has made us successful in every aspect of our club. I wouldn't call your level of support and noise successful . Embarrassing more like. LOL never heard noise level at games being measured as success or failure. I thought that was measured by success on the field. And actually I have been to many games where the support is fantastic. Mind you I suppose you need to measure success that way seeing as you dont succeed in any other categories. You said the investment has made Chelsea successful in every aspect of the club. Not a massive game at all. It's more a game where we expect nothing due to the distortion from the top to the bottom of the league which has been caused largely the dirty money brought in by your owner, and of course all the mega cash from other owners.

Our massive games this season are against our relegation rivals and as a club with a relatively low % of deluded supporters, we all know this is true.

The money (dont accept the dirty money nonsense) from our owner undoubtedly started the process but now we generate huge amounts of money ourselves. This grows yearly and puts us presently 5th in the money stakes world wide(as mentioned in an earlier posting). Like all businesses you have to invest initially and make loses before you see the profits of your investment.
That investment has made us successful in every aspect of our club.

It's more a game where we expect nothing due to the distortion from the top to the bottom of the league which has been caused largely the dirty money brought in by your owner, and of course all the mega cash from other owners. Our massive games this season are against our relegation rivals and as a club with a relatively low % of deluded supporters, we all know this is true. The money (dont accept the dirty money nonsense) from our owner undoubtedly started the process but now we generate huge amounts of money ourselves. This grows yearly and puts us presently 5th in the money stakes world wide(as mentioned in an earlier posting). Like all businesses you have to invest initially and make loses before you see the profits of your investment. That investment has made us successful in every aspect of our club. I wouldn't call your level of support and noise successful . Embarrassing more like. LOL never heard noise level at games being measured as success or failure. I thought that was measured by success on the field. And actually I have been to many games where the support is fantastic. Mind you I suppose you need to measure success that way seeing as you dont succeed in any other categories. You said the investment has made Chelsea successful in every aspect of the club. I went to Chelsea because Palace were playing, not because it was Chelsea. That's why I've also just bought tickets to Villa away, and why I went to Stoke earlier in the season. It's why I have a season ticket instead of picking and choosing the games I like - I couldn't give a s* who we're playing (let alone some wannabe glamour club who thinks paying a few blokes to wave flags a bit constitutes an atmosphere), I just want to watch Palace. Therein lies the difference between the two fan bases. We are fans, you are customers. We are supporters, you are observers. I would quite happily end up back I'm the Championship if it meant we didn't end up like you, a Russian Oligarch's plaything with no soul.

Oh dear, someone speaks before they think. That match was at Selhurst - not Chelsea away, so 20,000 fans turned up to watch their team at home play premier league opponents in a friendly. Oh, and our team were up s**t creek so maybe! just maybe! we were turning up to put money in our own clubs pocket and it wouldn't have mattered what premier league team it was? If you had class you would have played the first team. LOL

I went to Chelsea because Palace were playing, not because it was Chelsea. That's why I've also just bought tickets to Villa away, and why I went to Stoke earlier in the season. It's why I have a season ticket instead of picking and choosing the games I like - I couldn't give a s* who we're playing (let alone some wannabe glamour club who thinks paying a few blokes to wave flags a bit constitutes an atmosphere), I just want to watch Palace. Therein lies the difference between the two fan bases. REALLY?!?!? You may feel that way but thousands of your fans dont, hence the 20000 that turned up to watch our B team. We are fans, you are customers. YOU KNOW the millions of Chelsea fans do you?? Give me a break this is the biggest generalisation possible. Oh and if a rich benefactor arrived at Palace and bought Messi, Ronaldo etc of course Palace fans in their thousands would not go to watch them and wish they were back in the Championship where the 'real' fans are. LOL As the guy above said, we go to support our team, not to join a corporate, boutique audience masquerading as fans. If a rich benefactor arrived would more Palace fans go? It's impossible to tell - we sell out anyway without one. Sure, more people would probably be interested in us, but these people aren't fans (well, by your standards they are), they are football tourists. Oh, and millions of Chelsea fans? That is ludicrous. There are perhaps thousands of Chelsea fans. Hundreds of thousands if you include plastic, two-bob fair weather morons such as yourself. Millions? You truly are the most delusional away 'fan' we have had on here in a long time. Finally, if you gave me a choice between Messi and Ronaldo in a big, soulless stadium full of people who had never heard of the Dave Clark Five, would shout 'come on Wilf' every time Bolasie got the ball (sadly too common at times last year towards the end) and fellow fans such as yourself, I would take the Championship in a heartbeat. The enjoyment I get doesn't come from the success, it comes from the roller coaster ride, and the passion that permeates SE25 every other Saturday, and occasionally Sundays when Murdoch feels like it. Chelsea 'fans' will never understand, but they are missing out on something truly special.
