Yeah, you`ll find that the release dates are very often different from country to country.

Nah if you look at the hmv.co.au website it says August 2002 as well.

And it isn't anywhere near the top album of either year anyway!

What is the British Sea Power - The Decline Of British Sea Power like? Musically. What band are they similar too. I've heard loads of praise for this album, but have heard nothing.

Wouldn't play it in Dublin, its all Westlife and Boyzone over here and I like 'Where the streets have no name', but not on 30 minute rotation!

Not a classic year IMO but my votes would be for:

1) The Darkness - Permission to land
2) Gin Palace - Kill Grief
3) The Strokes - Room on Fire
4) British Sea Power - The Decline of British Sea Power
5) The Black Keys - Thickfreakness

Having said that I've forgotten loads.

Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
The Roots - Phrenology
Audio Bullys - Ego War
Neptunes - Clones

Some of my favourite albums of 2003.
I'm looking forward to March of this year when The Streets and N*E*R*D are both supposed to have new albums out

British Sea Power are kind of unique at the moment. Not sure who they claim to be influenced by but I can hear shades of Joy Division, The Smiths and Disintegration era Cure in there. Some of it is quite commercial, some is quite dark. Very good album, worth checking out if you like that sort of band

They are from Brighton but I can forgive them that.
