He did play well but it shows a huge lack of depth/quality in our current squad, if last season's fringe championship striker with 1 goal all season (albeit it because of Murray)is coming on in the PL

He was purely there because Jerome could not play.

Here we go!

A guy who hasn't even been in the 25, let alone played a competitive match, comes on and does exactly what was required of him by his manager and the team to help us win a crucial match and then gets slagged off by so called supporters who have to have a fall guy!

For much of the season it has been Puncheon, but he was designated 'hero' yesterday.

But Wilbraham who stepped in for Murray in the playoffs and helped secure Premiership football continues to be the butt of abuse!

For me, he is a journeyman with limitations, who never gives less than 100% and, used appropriately, makes a valuable contribution.

Well said that man. Some people on here really don't understand that the majority of what wins football matches isn't something out of FIFA or a Lionel Messi reel.

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely
Mile Jedinak

Anyone who thinks Wilbraham is a good player needs their head examined.

He is a paid Palace Player.
Did a ten minute job for us yesterday.
And played a leading role in getting us to The Prem.
Deserves to be in the 25.

Did more in 10 minutes than Chamakh did in 80 - more running, more shots, more enthusiasm and a lot less moaning!.

I literally cannot believe you posted that. Were you really at the game ? Do you understand football ?

Lazy journalists say Chamakh is lazy no doubt unaware or not caring about the irony.

Chamakh has a put a hell of a shift in every game Ive seen him and yesterday even more so. He got a bit frustrated towards the end, but he challenged for every single ball and won most them, moved play along well and created space for others and very rarely lost the ball.

The guy is class and if you cant see that, I really despair !

I like Chamakh and I was at the game yesterday and agree with CPJ.He was clearly unhappy at being required to play CJ'S role for one game, never won a header in the first half.Looked more up for it in the second half, proberbly after a rocket from Pulis.
Shame he has not got the heart of Wilbraham who did a great job in the short time that he was on the pitch.

He is a paid Palace Player. Indeed he is.
Did a ten minute job for us yesterday. He held the ball up well, sure.
And played a leading role in getting us to The Prem. Leading, not so sure, did well as a stand in - yes.
Deserves to be in the 25. 100% disagree with you.

I think he should of shot, but that dummy was just class.
Unfortunately for Wilbur everyone on here is just so damn perfect at everything that they do that they find it hard to appreciate a grafter. So many Roy Keane's in the World.

Truth is when Wilbraham came on there was total shock shown by everyone around me. We laughed in disbelief as he sidefooted that shot.... Would there be another Premier League team interested in buying him ? What about a championship team ? We'd never buy someone with his track record ... would we..
I cannot see it happening here for him, but I really hope one day he proves me wrong as he is a good bloke.

There is no pleasing some people on here. Wilbs will never win a golden boot. People criticise Giroud at Arsenal for not scoring enough chances, however Wenger realises that he holds the ball up and allows others to run off him.
Wilbs has similar attributes, just lacks that killer instinct in front of goal. I thought he did an excellent job for the team when he came on today, especially for someone who hasn't played since august.
Give the guy a break. He helped us win another 3 points.

He isn't going to score goals, but he played his role on perfection yesterday. Defending a 1-0 lead, he is the perfect player. A defensive striker if you will. Opinions. I'd bring him in.

Could be useful. We should strive for more attacking options, but if we fail to improve then he needs to be in there.

Wasn't that far wide from being perfectly placed, had that gone in it would have been f**king mental. I suspect we're more advertising him for sale or loan than anything else.

Can't fault his performances for us, except his goal scoring, but that's applicable to anyone of our 14 goals this season squad.
