It may be a new chant for the Holmesdale but if it comes anywhere near the Arthur, I for one will not participate.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

What about we stick that song on a bit of paper, put "Were the Boys from SE25" With it and the drum into a massive crate. Then place the crate in another crate and chain it up. Put a big f*** off pad lock on it, and dump it into the deepest part of the pacific ocean and never mention them again.

Are we really in need of a new song? Of all the teams in the league we seem to have a pretty decent hymn book at the ready.

In the one breath people seem to criticise certain areas of the ground for not being vocal enough and in the next everyone seems to be scratching around for a new song (this is NOT a dig at the OP by the way).

Surely we'd have more success in getting the WHOLE ground singing if new songs didn't pop up every two minutes that half the ground didn't know the words for.

Of course, some people would miss the smug satisfaction of rooting some part time/fairweather fans out of the woodwork who didn't know the words to new ditties, but I think maintaining this great atmosphere is more important.

Partly why I still sing the Jobi McAnuff song all on my own every time I go (kidding).

All this Brighton and Millwall scum songs are getting boring!

And is also one of the biggest reasons you wont get the whole ground singing along too. Not everyone turns up ready for war lol

Regardless of whether they are looking for war or not, most people probably cringe at the idea of singing a song about a team that aren't even involved in the game. As my girlfriend supports Birmingham, I went to Birmingham vs Brighton this season. Half the Brighton songs were about Palace. I was actually embarrassed for them.

As you say , dont be, we are just as bad.

We can sing about Millwall being scum, Brighton being gay and Charlton being Pikeys when and if we play them, it'll be directed more specifically too.

Theres a reason the likes of OLe Ole Ole etc are still being sung, they are only one team sepcific, OUR team. they also dont have the 'nasty' edge to them that would put of mums n dads, parents etc form singing and are still clearly linked to the 70's days at football.

And no, for the argumentative knobs on here, i'm not saying we should all sit down, hold hands and start singing Kumbaya either

Except, "Stand up if it's half time and you genuinely can't wait another 60 minutes for a poo/wee".

That's just common sense and therefore worthy of a song.

guys, this dross makes "we're the boys from SE25" sound like a top ten hit.

They come out with the classic 'When I was a young boy' and then someone comes up with 'we're the boys from SE25.' Not only does it sound cringe and sh1t but it's probably more like 'we're the boys from RH2' or 'CR6.'

Thank f*** that 'We're Crystal Palace and we're gonna win the league, gonna win the league, gonna win the league' got dropped within 2 home games. I think that might've been to the tune of the yellow submarine, or some Playbus tune.

Chant suggestion threads are consistently the worst. Yet to see anyone suggest something that isn't a complete abomination.
