My dad has texted me his vote for Joel Ward, but he has only seen a pocketful of games this season.

Still, he's stumbled across a pretty good candidate all the same!

It has to be Jules. A few players stand out but some of the saves he has pulled off this season have been world class!

my votes

1. Speroni
2. Dann, this the defence really solidified when he got here

3. Jedinak, always great consistent effort

If you look through the team and see who has got us most points, it has to be Jules. 2 on Saturday for instance. It's great that we have so many candidates for POTS. There have been many seasons when it's been picking the best of the worst !

Anyway, Jules 100 % for me.

Speroni...

A few others have come close... Jedi for me made too many mistakes in the early part of the season with sloppy passes. JS has been nearly faltless so far - no crucial mistakes and plenty of crucial saves.

Exactly, Joe Ledley has been great as well but not enough games to judge the whole season.

Ward, Speroni and Jedinak.

Don't know who though. Jedinak is so instrumental in our game; he had the week or the week before, and may still do now, the most interceptions in EUROPE. Speroni has saved us so many times, and Ward' step up to this level has been brilliant.

Don't think I'd grumble if it was any of them.

Ive been very underwhelmed by Jedi this year.

33 Starts suggests you know very little about Football.

That's apparent just by reading any of his posts.

So he has been amazing all season has he. His stats are very high because on a good day he is an absolute beast and wins the ball so much, but some games this year have been appalling and he has gifted the opposition goals on many occasion.

Name those Games.?
We have only let in 39.!!
We have the 5th best defence in the League.
My previous comment stacks up.

I cant name the games tbf most were Holloway matches. Stoke, Man UTD (Mistake led to pen), Swansea, Fulham, Newcastle and Norwich. I think are the games. Don't get me wrong on a whole he has been fine but no way player of the year. Jules, Ward, Delaney or Puncheon for me.

For consistency over the whole season it has to be Speroni or Ward. Jedi has had some amazing games and was back to his best against Chelsea but he has had a couple of stinkers in recent weeks too.
Puncheon is another one who is in great form at the moment but hasn't always been.
Chamakh deserves a mention but has been in/out of the team a couple of times.
Bolasie has also proved me wrong. I did not believe he could make the step up to the Premiership but he has at times been outstanding. But his goal scoring rate is appalling. While it is not his job to score the goals he has had plenty of opportunities, especially recently. You'd expect him to weigh in with at least one or two.

For me Jules, although Ward runs him very close.

Early part of the season under IH he did give away the ball a lot with lazy passes some of which led to goals, but under TP there have been none that I can remember...

and look at our results in those games.

I honestly see the point and i will be shocked if anyone but Jules wins.

However, I interpreted this question in a slightly different way -- which player has the most to do with us staying safe?

In my mind, after Jules, Its Scott Dann. If we didnt acquire him, I honestly think we are in the drop zone right now. Though only 9 games, I would take him against almost any centre back in the PL
