Anyone watch Danny Murphy on the MOTD preview programme yesterday? He only echoed the sentiment that this is a huge non story. Everyone knows everyone's teams nearly every week, players ring each other up to see if they're playing each other and talk about their line-ups. It's not supposed to be a secret and never has been. Much a do about nowt.

I posted on here the Villa & Palace lineups at 12:30, so a load of tosh by the Mirror, it's not difficult to obtain the whole of the Premier League games, if you know where to look.

I remember that sarge. I thought you may have got one player wrong but tbh I can't quite recall.

Yes, the unscrupulous blighters got wind of my post on here and changed Lowton for Weimann not that it made any difference.

“The most amazing thing, though, was the fact that the formation and team line-up was spot on, which I thought was very strange, considering Villa subsequently made four changes from the previous week, and played 3-5-2 rather than 4-4-1-1.

“Not many expected Weimann and Albrighton to be on the bench, and Lowton to play at right wing-back, but Villa lined up exactly as we had seen it on the paper in the dressing room.

This seems a very curious thing to say coming from a member of "40 match day sponsors and their guests".It does show an awareness of team and tactics well above the normal.I wouldn't have thought there are many opposition supporters among Palace match sponsors?

I'd like to congratulate the super scouting and analysis work being done at Palace. It's absolutely vital that we know as much as possible about the opposition and if the other teams are stupid enough to allow information to be given away easily that's their problem not ours.

How can "spying" on the training ground extrapolate to getting the team line up ? Surely all the players in the squad would be training ? Again, like Cardiff, if the team has been leaked it can only come from within and is an internal matter. Unless some form of gain, monetary or otherwise, has been obtained by the indvidual/s concerned can't see any case against us.

The last line in that article is: "We offered Crystal Palace the chance to respond. They declined to comment" and as Parish says "we don't give them the oxygen to further this story".

It's total rubbish.

Have Villa complained? I don't think they have....

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
