Fact, Alt- fact and UKIP facts.

Ukip leader Paul Nuttall has admitted claims made on his website that he lost "close personal friends" at Hillsborough are false.

The word 'friends' was a give away

I don't know about Paul Nuttal's social life but it is always apparent that in some minds, a lie by UKIP is so much worse than a lie by any other party.

Truth economy is the staple of politics and plain lies come out around election time.

Indeed, mostly about taxation, the NHS etc. but why lie about this?

'But it's always apparent'... Go on, explain how you came about this vague notion. Or is it just cheap shot labelling based on nothing in particular

Nuttall seems to be being caught out telling porkies a lot these days. Still people will vote for him.

I don't know but presumably to gain sympathy. A bit weird.

I'm not sure if it is your age that makes you still carry a vestige of belief in the integrity of politicians or your zealous need to directly or indirectly promote socialism with endless rhetoric but either way it is out of touch with reality.

Don't tell anyone but here's the thing. They are all in it for themselves.

Defending something with a they're all at it response isn't really defending it is it?
You have also deflected from the point that despite Nuttall being a proven liar, people will still vote for him. Why would people knowingly vote for someone knowing this?

I'm not defending anything, I'm acknowledging the reality of politics.

And of course I'd vote for a proven liar. They all lie. That is the point I'm making.
In modern politics there is little in the way of philosophy or integrity. As a voter, I will vote for the party who I believe will get me what I want within the constraints of democratic our system. That does not mean that I will have any allegiance to that party or share all of it's apparent agenda.
If UKIP can pressure the Tories or nullify Labour and that leads to a big reduction in immigration for example, then sure I will vote for them. I'd even vote Labour if they weren't so totally inept and full of people who don't represent the best interests of this country.

It's interesting the bashing UKIP get.

This is what the Labour candidate for Stoke has said about women:

Imagine the outrage if Sir Nigel had said this.

With his possible lies exposed today, will he have to consider his position as leader.
Certainly his integrity and honesty has been called into question.
Was he or was he not at Hillsborough and did he ,or did he not lose a close personal friend??

Well quite.

I do respect people who speak their minds occasionally but probably not best if you are an MP in a dodgy seat.

Alas powers beyond my control render me unable to respond directly to Matthew. But it's worth pointing out to you at least that this is a thread about ukip and Paul Nuttall so to point to what other candidates may or may not have said is whataboutery. s***e debating technique.
The leader of a beloved party (ukip) has been found out to be a charlatan. The response from kippers? Look over there.
