I imagine nickgusset was expecting an argument from the right, not the centre left. Nice to be on the side of the racists and homophobes.

Pathetic. Labelling all UKIP supporters as racist and whatever homophobic means these days is lazy and cheap.

I sometimes wonder if you may have autism as you don't seem to get irony or sarcasm.

There is many a true word said in jest.

Also, why are you so punchy? I thought you deplored personal remarks on here. Do you have a sympathy period for when your missus is on the blob in order to understand and show solidarity with the female condition?

It's called empathy, something that those with aspergers sadly lack.

Really? Saying you think I have autism and implying I have aspergers?

I think this is a bit of an insult to those suffering with or caring for people with these conditions.

I couldn't give a stuff what you say about me but at least call me a heartless capitalist stooge, or something witty from your right on dictionary, rather than mocking me with conditions that do profoundly affect lives.

I must confess that I view UKIP voters as elderly people who still call black people "them coloureds" and who refuse to have their sink unblocked by a Polish plumber. I am not saying that is what they are, as that would be lazy and cheap. I am only saying that this is my personal perception.

And that, my friend, is prejudice.

1. I didn't say you have autism, I merely suggested that you didn't seem to get sarcasm or irony which happens to be one of the symptoms of the condition.
2. My eldest has aspergers so I am fully aware of how the condition impinges on those with the condition and their loved ones. You are right it does profoundly affect lives. Following your logic, I am insulting myself!
3. I am not mocking you, just merely correcting your use of the word solidarity and replacing it with the word empathy, which, having seen you start threads such as 'man up and grow some balls' seems to be something you lack.

Every single thread is turning into this tedious denigration of each other.

My work is becoming more interesting. Stop it.

Back to the subject. UKIP are dangerous and are pulling the wool over people's eyes. They have been favoured and given a lot of space to spew their vile agenda in the media.
Why are the press not even exploring any ideas that are anti austerity? The idea has not even been explored in the mainstream.

Its probably something to do with the fact that only UKIP really offer a threat to the main three parties in the European elections.

People who vote Green and Socialist etc aren't particually likely to vote for the main three parties, where as UKIP are pulling in voters from all three, most notably the Tory and Labour electorate.

It would be curiously ironic if they, as polls suggest, storm the UK European Elections, given their stance is anti-EU. And the British people do love an irony.

As someone who sits politically to the right of centre I find the growing of UKIP quite scary. The consequences of them achieving any level of power would impact the country for years.

I hope that the elctorate will see through the populist rants but I'm not convinced that they will

I think people like Farage, they yearn for another Thatcher, a conviction politician who stands up for Britain. I think Boris is also popular for the same reasons. Too many wishy washy politicians in Government these days, Cameron, Clegg, Milliballs. They don't represent the man in street.

Greens would Tax you to death - be careful what you wish for

The others you mention haven't triggered anything the media deem worthy of their attention.

That's how I see it too.
