We need another argument type thread.
How the fack are this lot getting so much airtime in the media?
Why aren't other alternative parties - green or TUSC (who are fielding more candidates than UKIP in the euro and local council elections and are far more credible) getting as much press exposure?

who are TUSC?

Edit: Just googled them and it seems they are not running candidates in the Euro elections, only the local council elections. So the comparison seems a bit unfair (although turnout in both will probably be similar)

Because the media want us to hate them but are simultaneously promoting them at the same time?

The others you mention haven't triggered anything the media deem worthy of their attention.

Or they have viable alternatives but the media don't want to upset the status quo?

not really. To say that "TUSC will oppose all cuts to council jobs" is so ridiculous that no one with half a brain would take them seriously.

UKIP are only on the radar thanks to the blinkered arrogance and stupidity of the 'established' parties in not addressing grass roots concerns, but instead railroading policies that, whilst politically correct, ignored the aforementioned concerns because they were deemed somehow 'racist' .

Labour were the prime candidates, it has to be said. To busy consulting the PC manual, and not enough time spent listening.

The status quo being? The Green Party are a complete load of rubbish anyway. Just looking at their economic aims, it's laughable to suggest they'd be a more realistic choice for office than UKIP.

It seems perfectly logical ...UKIP are against the EU so let them win all the seats in the Euro elections unhindered. They will help to bring Europe to it's knees and in so doing, abolish themselves. No wonder the other parties aren't worried!!!!

Ukip exist and do well as a product of our main parties ignoring and talking down to a significant proportion of the electorate.

The number of times I've heard politicians dismiss disquiet over the EU by saying it isn't the kind of issue that comes up on the doorstep are too numerous to mention.

Yet Ukip continue to rise due to our politicians ignoring the concerns of a significant section of UK society over the mess of immigration and how it has affected our lives.

They emphasized the positives of immigration.....Which do exist.....But minimize the negatives and do nothing about them.

Because nothing has been done many are happy to turn to Ukip......Not because they believe in everything they say or do. But because they are the only ones out there prepared to stand up to the elitist, gravy train system that our politicians have designed for us and implement.

I'm not one hundred behind Ukip but they are the only show in town.....So they will do.
