Legend. Wore the shirt with pride everytime he played and it showed. Also he scored the first goal my son saw Palace score....93rd minute winner at home to Barnsley 2001.

I've asked him on FB where he'll be pre-match. Will let you know if he replies.

I truly don't think there will ever be another Aki Riihilahti at Palace. That dedication to the club and fans sadly doesn't exist in modern players any more. My all time favorite Crystal Palace player in all the years I've been watching the Palace. Not best player. But definitely favourite.

Gutted I won't be able to get to this one (Daughter's birthday).

Surely Jules runs him close?

One of, if not the, nicest and most interesting players ever to wear the red n blue.
I'm sure he'll get a fitting reception.

In the woods there grew a tree. And a fine fine tree was he.

He does. But Aki's honest hear-on-sleeve emotional love for the club, I don't know. For me, no one's going to dislodge him as my fave, even if Jules has been here longer. Maybe Aki is just more vocal? But I do hope Jules retires here, if he so chooses to do so. The amount of points and important games he's won us. I dare say he'll always have a spare room to kip in South London/Kent/Surrey/(parts of) Sussex for the rest of his days.

But my man love for Aki is total Guy's just a total legend to me. And that's not taking away from Jules in any way, shape or form.

Agreed mcanuff. Aki is Palace personified. Committed, honest, hard-working and a just a little bit mental.

He will always be welcome at Palace and should never need to buy a drink in South London for the rest of his life.

To the Kolo/Yaya tune, in tribute to the legend that is Aki you could all sing:

Aki Aki Aki Aki Aki Aki Riihilahti

What a hero I love him!

Absolutely.

Top, top bloke and has Palace in his heart like the rest of us.

Anyone else admitting to a bit of a man-crush?

I got booted out of my local for jumping up and over celebrating his goal against England

The ONLY time I've ever smiled when England have conceded a goal!

Bit late for him to appear now that all the heavy lifting has been done. Could he put in a good shift for us next season?

Err...he's been retired for three years...he flies a desk these days at HJK, bar a bit of coaching.
