Now I know he's been linked with top clubs but what would be the point in him going there as he wont be a number one pick at a club chasing the league/champions league.

He's not come thru the route of footballs silver spoon genre, but got where he is thru hard work, and at 22 must know that if he moves to a mid-table club for a few years if he continues to develop the way he is would get the prime of his career at the top table.

Should this be exactly the type of striker we should be looking for..he wouldn't smash the wage structure aswell

Thoughts?

I'd prefer Austin to Ings.

We need goals and Austin will always provide more of those than Ings, no brainer it's Austin for me.

I would aswell but we are palace and we don't hav a bottomless pit of cash...Austin would cost in excess of 15m...ings would probably be 1/3rd of that...and hes 3 years younger meaning if he comes in for 2 years and done really well we are selling a 24 year old rather than a 27 year old.

Ings deal makes real financial sense for where we are right now.

Show an interest, Alan. Ings would be perfect: hardworking, strong and seems to be grounded. He won't be first choice at Anfield, why not tempt him with Zaha, Bolasie and the best fans in the land?

I don't think he's good enough for Liverpool at present. He'd have the exact same season Lambert has and I'm not sure that's of benefit to anyone. Liverpool need to spend big on a striker anyway.

If he's scoring 10 in 33 for Burnley, hopefully he'd be netting around 15 for us over the course of the season as he'd get a few more chances and that would be a good return.

More likely to go back to be with his mate at Bournemouth than come to Palace.

Unlikely. I think Ings will go to a bigger club than both Bournemouth and Palace !

How about a swap with Gayle - might suit both clubs and players. I imagine we would have to pay a few bob too?

Ings gets my vote as well although no disrespect to Austin who is a great player.

First time posting here. Finally got a season ticket next season for me, the wife and 2 kids although living in the Midlands i doubt I'll get to more than 6 matches.
