If the rumours that Austin won't leave London the we can forget about Villa being competition, leaving just us and West ham in the running.

Bamford isn't what we need and I can't understand why we would sign him unless Gayle and Campbell are both going soon.

McCarthy is excellent and an improvment in Hennessey.

I hope it's Austin and McCarthy but I suspect we may be waiting a little longer for Austin.

How can you say Bamford isn't what we need before he has kicked a ball for us? This time last year Tottenham fans would probably have said the same thing about Kane.

I am not really one for predictions but the lad Bamford will be a great signing if true. Have watched this lad many times MK Dons, Derby and at Midboro. Really good classy finisher and seems to have a great attitude and wants to learn.

Only my opinion but this lad will get goals for Palace

If the Bamford deal is done & dusted I hope there's another striker to come, can't say I'm getting excited over another keeper we don't even need

I'll say it again. People who are underwhelmed by Bamford's transfer know nothing about football. They've been blinded by the premier league and possibly don't bother looking at talent lower down the leagues.

The boy has bags of potential! The only reason for being underwhelmed is knowing it isn't permanent. Bamford is a class act. If he makes the step up quickly he'll do really well.

Spoke to a couple of my Chelsea mates as I've never seen him.

They are well happy he is with us on loan as they want him in the Prem. Massive potential and they hope he will be ready for the Chelsea squad in a season or two.

He has to be better than Ameobi, Campbell and Sanogo so why the complaints?

I won't judge him until I've seen him but I'm looking forward to it. Hope he does really well with us.

in your humble opinion of course.
I'm not convinced he will fit into our style of play. And yes I have seen him play a few times recently

Bamford is a very good player. Light years better than Sanogo. Be interesting to see who doesn't get on the plane tomorrow.

He will fit into our system. Very similar player to Matt Jansen (as I've said on the bamford thread). Like Jansen he likes going deep to receive the ball but his hold up play and heading ability is decent too (again like Jansen).

The sad thing is I reckon we'll be longing for his permanent signing after a few months but Chelsea won't sell.

Yes we do. Hennessey wants to got to West Brom to reunite with Pulis.

He wasn't allowed to leave until a replacement was signed.

Very happy if it is Bamford, talented young and hungry just what we need. And hopefully it means some other mugs can pay over the odds for Austin.

I'm pleased I have wanted us to get someone' who can score from long range. First touch accuracy, he may improve our possession as well. Seems good passer.

McCarthy will be great when we play Liverpool. He really pissed on their chips.

On a slightly different note, if we sign McCarthy Woy should really be pleased. A back four of McCarthy, Ward, Dann, and Kelly (along with Souare) would give a top ten Premiership team pretty much an entirely English foundation. They all should, if they perform, help each other gain international recognition. Just a thought.
