A Labour source said: “Labour has held or gained more seats in council byelections this year than it has lost, including gaining a seat from the Tories and another from Ukip. The Middlesbrough byelection was very close – only 33 votes separated Labour and the Conservatives – and the turnout was extremely low, making it difficult to draw any meaningful conclusions. However, voters don’t like divided parties, public attacks and infighting. Unity is essential to delivering effective opposition.”

This is what we're dealing with. Where of all the council by elections, one is taken out of context and blame is laid exclusively at the feet of one man! And whats more, thats in supposedly the most left wing daily in the country!

I honestly find it amazing that in england, france and the us, socialists are coming so close to power given how f*cked up the media coverage is of them. Shows you how little trust there is in the establishment i guess

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4

If Corbyn won the next general election, it would be like Derek Hatton's reign in Liverpool, only on a national scale.

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell]

Get over it. The same blame is lumped at Theresa May whether Tories f*** up and all of UKIP's woe she are lumped onto Paul Nuttall.

It's incredible that Sturgeon's miscalculation on the referendum hasn't come back to haunt her. Yet.

The only reason Tim Fallon doesn't get more blame is because he is irrelevant.

Please elaborate on your final point. It appears that Labour are being trounced left and right and centre and are nowhere near power, except in your mind.

Great old-fashioned tub thumping speech from JC just like a socialist should be IMO.

So he was 200/1 against to be labour leader not surprising that the PM is scared of TV debate as she reads all her stuff off idiot boards and prepared answers.

Are you for real?

Corbyn is not fit to adjust her suspenders as a politician. He makes Michael Foot look like Churchill.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.
