A fair day's pay for a fair days work, affordable housing and job security are not that left wing and are pretty much center ground politics outside of the Sun and the Daily Mail. The corporate tax level he proposed was lower than Thatcher had in place.

I have read Marx and he makes good points about the problems of Capitalism but I don't share his faith in the dictatorship of the Proletariat. But I certainly think that considering we are the sixth richest country in the world our current model of Capitalism is crap - unless you are rich. It the system that just keeps giving if you are rich.

JC is spot on and that is why he is getting so much support despite the bias press coverage.

To say Corbyn is a Marxist shows that you are better at echoing cliches than you are at getting your head around political ideas.

No cliches , I don't read any papers and haven't done for years , I have my own opinion , to me he is a career politician totally out of his depth, thrust into the spotlight with McCluskeys hand up his arse , and I didn't vote Tory either

Marxism v Capitalism. Take two examples: Germany and Korea were both divided into a marxist and a capitalist half. As time went by, the differences in the economic conditions of the poor in both countries became stark. On the marxist side of Korea there has been mass starvation, the capitalist side prospered. On the marxist side of Germany, the average wage was lower than unemployment benefit on the capitalist side, the capitalist side prospered and a wall was built to stop people escaping from the marxist side. After the world's two most populous countries, China and India, permitted more capitalism in their countries, their economic performance suddenly surged. In every single country that has tried marxism, political oppression has taken place. People have been killed and imprisoned without trial. In the Soviet Union, China and Cambodia, millions died in the marxist holocaust. Political oppression has occurred in every single marxist country. [some of this paraphrased from an article in the Spectator]

Corbyn at Glastonbury...preaching to the converted as ever...young, naive people who see him as an elder sage cum messiah.

Fair play to him and whoever are his advisers - they seized the opportunity to plonk him at a youthful assembly which will give massive press coverage
and they all hooted and cheered at "free beer tomorrow , "soak the rich" and all the usual nonsense.

May, wrong-footed as ever, was paying homage to the military...worthy in my view but boring and fusty to his increasing youthful support. The PM looks increasingly lost and inept at every turn of the way...if Conservatives are to ever recover from disaster after disaster, she must be overturned.

Well it's lucky for us that Labour's manifesto was a slightly left of centre social Democratic one not really Marxist at all if the truth be told.

Corbyn and McDonnell are both marxists, McDonnell had an article in teh Morning Star the other day, and their campaign manager was a member of the communist party until December of last year.
