Can pikey take pictures of the nutella night for kits-on.co.uk?

I'll be the handy-cam man James. If she's a looker I might join in.
We could be like one of those programs on Sky that a.. err mate told me about.... Ben Dover?

What you mean Cucking??

And reborn, yeah i was with her for 9 months, however a lot of that was spent apart and me trying to get her mate on the side. She WAS mighty fine.

I think you're a softie, really, pikey.... If I was a girlie, I'd probably fall for your banter!

Better than falling for old Seedy's banter. I dunno, I think we're just TOO polite, Cucking old fruit. My mother told me I'd never meet a nice girl if I "talked Nutella" with her straight away. But off goes that smoothie Creedy and he's got Bexter eating out of his hand. I'll just have to take some filthy talk lessons from the SPB.

BluenRed - tell the whole story of meeting your wife through a chat room - sounds interesting.
Was she not disappointed that you didn't look exactly like Tom Cruise as you'd been promising for the previous 3 months?

Errrr ... no ... what happened was ... I met her on deafchat (a chatroom for deaf people) ... was actually waiting for someone else (had 2 others on the go at the time) ... got chatting to my wife ... she openly answered questions (the girl I was waiting for didn't) and gave me her phone number ... phoned her that night ... went up to Birmingham the next day ... promptly dumped the 2 that I was stringing along ... and never looked back!
I never described myself as Tom Cruise ... just gave an honest acccount of myself ... 6'3", blue/green eyes, brown hair, medium build and ... she obviously liked what she saw!

BluenRed - a tad personal and slightly off topic so tell me where to go if you like.

When I worked in a call centre for a little while I took a phone call from a service for deaf people and she would type down what I was saying and then tell me what the other person had typed back.

Hang on as I'm typing I'm thinking if that was the case wouldn't it be better to carry on emailing.

I'm confusing myself now. Are you both deaf? I don't get the phone bit. Sorry if this comes across as ignorant/nosey.

Hey Moose, I started with the Bovril talk which my Mother told me was the first step. SHE started with the Nutella talk. Saucy minx.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

So what you're saying, James, is that rather than "Hi there, may I buy you a drink?", I'd be better off with "Alright, you old munter. Can I smear Bovril all over yer tits?"

I feel old sometimes.

Pikey ... not at all ... always keen to do my bit to promote deaf awareness!

Technically speaking I am not deaf ... I have a severe hearing loss but can hear sound ... it get is distorted so I no longer hear as clearly as I used to (could hear on the phone and hear people converse when I was younger). My wife is hearing but comes from a deaf family so is fluent in sign language!

Deaf people use a minicom (also known as a textphone) which is a keyboard with a screen but uses high pitched bleeps for each letter/key. There is a relay service called textdirect (formerly known as typetalk) which is a minicom to an operator with a minicom in front of him/her and headphones and he/she relays the conversation ... it is good but SLOW.

I didn't have internet access at home at that time (I used cybercafes) so had no choice really.

I found it best to use chatrooms as when I went to nightclubs/pubs or whatever I would make eye contact ... the female would come over and more often than not if there was loud music they would talk to my ear ... I'd point out I am deaf and they'd usually say "oh" and make their excuses and leave. On chatrooms it is only when I have gained their trust that I admit I am deaf ... usually they would be ok about it ... more so on deafchat as all of the users were deaf or had deaf connections!

Any further questions feel free to PM/ask!

I did the sound on a series of programmes for the hearing impared a few years ago (they had to have the signing voiced-over and foley on the drama scenes). The actors, who were mostly deaf, had a vast array of jokes about non-hearing impared people. I also managed to pick up some 'interesting' signs. The one for 'Bulls***' is very creative.

Think I know the sign you mean ... not really a proper sign but most people get it!!
