Well thank you for introducing me to a completely new experience - partially agreeing with you on something.

I would not like the type who eats at a 'cereal bar'. In fact, I would not allow them on my property. They to me are the type of skinny jean wearing, ironic glasses sporting and stupid big headphone donning morons that are turning the greatest nation in the World into a laughing stock.

If I was in charge of the country (and I am sure you all pray that will happen soon), I would bring back conscription for those types and make them crouch behind a wall in Helmand province for five years. That would make them think about what they have done and act as a warning to others who think about following this fashion for dressing & acting like a manicured buffoon.

With regards to Costa, I fail to see the issue. A cup of coffee is sold. When you want a cup of coffee and there is a Costa, you will use it. Most of us don't have the time to locate, or the access, a locally run, independent coffee shop selling Fairtrade coffee. Choosing Costa or Neros is part of the tapestry of City dwelling and working. Getting pretentious about it belies a detachment from reality, in my opinion.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, the very basis of a democratic society should be to allow people to do what they want, even if they're pretencious c**ts with annoying habits.

And those anarchists, are stupidly targeting small independent community businesses that represent local peoples interests - I could see why attacking a starbucks or costa coffee makes 'sense', but this attack is about spite, not anarchism. We need more small local businesses to avoid the Brand Identi-Kit high streets the UK is becoming. Money and employment in the community.

Its no different really than a café selling breakfast - and presumably it does enough business to stay open, even if its selling to people spending three quid for some cereal.

The attack on the cereal killer café really is the politics of envy. Like Jamie said Starbucks, and the like are corporate behemoths and fair game. To attack a small independent business is not. Especially by people who haven't so much as run a bath, let alone a business. My guess is that most things 'Hipsterish' this café unless it diversifies into something more than selling breakfast cereal will be closed within nine months. On the point of gentrification, anything that brings jobs and tidies up a s***hole is OK in my books.

Pizza, whilst ridiculously expensive for what is a piece of bread and some tomato sauce, is just about forgivable even if it is £9.99 as I am guessing the majority don't know how to make a good one at home. Ice cream is pretty inexpensive in most places - £2 for four Magnums in a supermarket - so easy to avoid the traders marking it up to something stupid like £2.50 each or summat.
