Darren ambrose. ..enough said. Like seriously that guy everytime he scored and I was at selhurst I would turn round to my mate and say that's one of the best live goals I've seen! He just seemed to have a knack of scoring belters!

Especially "that goal". I went to show my girlfriend the video of THE goal on YouTube thinking she might have some interest in it being a Birmingham fan (although he wasn't such a big name there). She didn't seem at all bothered but humoured me. I showed her and she went "f**king hell, show me that again!"

I get that all the time

so do I, and off is Mrs too!

Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan

Ian Wright vs Chelsea 1990. Received a pass just inside the box, completely destroyed Erland Johnsen with a couple of tricks and chipped big Dave Beasant. I was standing behind the goal. Mayhem..

Gareth Southgate against Portsmouth. Picking it up just outside the box and running all the way across the pitch before letting fly from 30 yards.

If anyone has a link of that, it would be appreciated!

Jim Cannon v Ipswich for me too.

Still pretty fresh in the memory even though it was 36 years ago!

See if Joe Bloggs, Paris Eagle and Mistergoldie remember it the same way :

Corner to Ipswich, headed clear to the edge of our area (possibly by Jim Cannon, but that's a bit hazy).

Gerry Francis controlled it on his thigh around the D outside the area, swivelled and sprayed the ball out to Mike Flanagan on the left wing, just inside the Palace half.
Ipswich had thrown caution to the wind and sent almost everyone up for the corner.
Meanwhile Jimbo had gone haring down the middle of the park (centre back mind and what possessed him to do that?!) arriving in the opposing D just in time to receive Flanagan's ball catching it sweetly on the volley and rifling it into the roof of the net.

Staggering goal from a centre back

This.

Also Wrighty's half volley against Brighton in '89.

Got a hazy memory of Chris Armstrong scoring with a bullet of a header from outside the box but may have imagined that one.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Best goal? Has to be Don Roger's first against Man Utd. Pushes the ball one side of the keeper, runs around him the other side and scores. Even Pele couldn't do this.

As I recall, it was Jim Cannon himself who picked the ball up in the middle of the field, sprayed it out to Flanagan to chase down the left wing and then just carried on sprinting towards the Ipswich goal. Flanagan played a long looping cross which arrived in the penalty area just as Cannon did, perfect timing, and it seemed just to come off Cannon in full flight and end up in the net. 4-1 to Palace and top of the League.

Got to be Don Rogers vs Stoke City in late 73. It is the only time I ever saw a player virtually walk past 3 or 4 defenders and it won ITV Goal of the Season. However my favourite was the Jim Cannon goal vs Ipswich

John Craven equaliser against Leeds Utd in 1972 - 30 yard strike - great goal and also Kenny Sansom - I think it was a Boxing Day and I think against Luton.
I was right behind it - he hit it and next thing it was in the back of the net - 35 yards maybe - dead straight - ball didn't seem to move it went that fast.

Kasami, Palace vs Fulham.

Fulham absolutely bossed the game and we lost but I seem to recall this goal being a worldie which featured on the goal of the season shortlist.
