I am not secretive on here but no-one should really be expected to reveal how they voted at a GE. As my local MP, Sarah Newton, has helped me personally over the years with a particular issue you could though make an educated guess as to who I supported. I haven't changed my mind that I believe Brexit to be a huge mistake, or that the leave campaign was fraudulent. However, my present interest is all on Parliament's determination to avoid a "no deal" exit. Once that is achieved then we can start to examine the subsequent options.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

It was headlined as if we changed from leave to remain ! When more people voted leave in the pole, And if you read it all it said pretty much exactly that. It was based on opinion polls which have a big margin or error but nevertheless are all pointing the same way. Which is why the headline asked a question rather than made a statement.

What PMs do very successfully is appear confident and effortlessly superior in times of crisis, more so in the ones they have themselves created. Ted Heath said this was actually not innate it was taught him before he was appointed. It is so that, when the s***e has really hit the fan thee is really nothing to worry about they will sort out this little local difficulty, no need to panic as I am here. An excellent example in last weeks 'spotlight on the troubles' was Mrs Thatcher and Dr.Fitzgerald's Anglo-Irish accord on Northern Ireland, although they don't appear to be represented at all. How immaculate and dismissive of any problems she is, exuding confidence and power, just leave it to us thank you.. The result of her interference was that Ulster Unionists felt sold out and went on a violent campaign afterwards which at some points even exceeded even the IRAs. 'Just popping in to sort your country out' Enhanced waving and smiles, trust us you know it makes sense etc. The British public fall for it every time.

Government doest have to abide by its manefesto , Members of parliment can vote against their constituency. Vote them all out and the new lot can f*** you over. This makes me more anti establishment and want to leave the EU.

ALl the current reports saying that they are nearly there on a deal but wont get the legal arrangement done in time. Thanks Jeremy, if you didnt take no deal off the table they would have been bending over backwards to get a deal done ASAP. Killed the negotiating position.

Forget Ireland. Nothing to do with the border. All to do with regulatory alignment. That is what the EU want more than anything else because they do not want us soaking up every bit of over-seas investment going. That is what this supposed 'deal' is going to fall or die on. Limits on the trade deals we can do abroad. My gut is telling me it will all fall to pieces with the EU looking to blame Johnson with the hope it impacts on him in any forthcoming election. Lets see. Been wrong plenty of times before but this is all starting to stink now. Better no-deal than bowing down to the EU on this. No point in being out if we are limited on who we can trade with.
