The EU have been clear, no new negotiation.

The backstop can keep us bound to the EU indefinitely without being able to withdraw ourselves from it. That is not leave.

May's deal is a betrayal of the vote and a complete shambles.

No deal is inevitable and I welcome it.

The only thing to do in the national interest is to revoke article 50 forthwith.

Why did she ever invoke it anyway.

100 days away and nobody has a clue what the future will bring.

That is a country going to the dogs.

It's basically the same as the little green form you used to fill out, for free, on the plane where you self certify that you aren't a nutter, terrorist, criminal, spy, on drugs etc. Nothing actually gets checked and this will be no different.

As you say, expect one to apply in reverse in the near future.

Mind you the Remainers won't have to worry about this as they will hold EU passports. Now where was it my Irish grandmother was born?

One thing I will not give up is my birth right. I am English and proud of it I don't get why people want another passport unless they are planning on moving to that country.

Somehow I don't think the EU, or anyone else, wants you to give up your birth right.

At the same time, what passport anybody wants is really a matter for them.

In many country's dual citizenship is not allowed and I think it does matter. Where does your allegiance lie? If you want a foreign passport fine then give up your British rights nothing wrong with that. I don't believe in passports of convenience.

It's funny how when people with duel citizenship are in trouble abroad they tend to produce their UK passport.

I dislike sport people who do it. Vinnie Jones bounced between England, Ireland and Wales, representing your country should mean something.

My brother has resided in Australia on and off for about 30 years and has never applied for Australian citizenship.

When he came to the UK in 2014 for our mother's funeral he had to pay for a visa to get back into Australia despite being resident there for the last 20 years or so ! He has married two Australians and some of his offspring were born there - I have not heard that he now has an Australian passport and he feels he is very much British and not Australian !

Exactly, my brother has never taken out US citizenship which means he is not even allowed to vote for the local dog catcher, he is OK with that.

Just had a wicked thought about all those Brits rushing to get Irish and German passports. As the EU is going to have an army shouldn't the new citizens be the first to serve to prove their loyalty? By the way Germany still has conscription not sure what the rules are but I would find it funny if some Brits were told to do their national service.

Not really I know plenty of people in this country and abroad who keep the nationality of their birth because that is how they feel.
