I do like the chemical brothers view on brexit Chemical Brother Ed Simons said Brexit meant “losing something you’re used to having — your rights, whether you use them or not — and for what? There’s no trade-off, which makes me quite angry and sad. He added that “you’re going to have something reduced about your country and your own personal opportunities, and that’s being celebrated? So according to this research, Brexit has cost us all around £550 extra, a total of £15bn, prices for items like coffee, bananas, alcohol for example all costing more. And that's a Conservative estimate. Brexit makes you poorer, Fact

Perhaps we should blame remaining in the EU for that? Once we leave our currency may go up or down and if we stay the same applies. External factors and the strength of your economy will always impact your currency in or out of the EU. Part of the issue of being tied to the euro is it favours some and not others. I suspect that countries like Greece would prefer a further weakening as it would benefit tourism. Germany has benefited from a weak euro for its exports if they were not in the euro their currency would be much stronger hurting their exports.
