Time was if schools in an authority were crap you could vote out the council, but now you can't vote out an academy chain.

All this outsourcing is making local government undemocratic.

You mean you can't vote in local elections? An academy chain is not a political arm.

It's like saying your teacher hasn't been teaching you very well, and can't vote them out. You can make a complaint and see how it goes.

Nick, could you imagine if May was made a President, and only the Government (Not Parliament or Population) could decide who gets that job?

Be good we'd be a Republic then. Buck Palace could be used to house homeless soldiers.

Leave the rotting older generation in the UK to smoulder in their own compost.

That is more than generous what a bunch of selfish g**s they are, also the fattest in the world except for the USA.

However as a slim europhile and potential 'corbynista' I am hoping Glastonbury will be a turning point and will be 'hanging out' in the hope of forgiveness by the younger generation.

I even got a Corbyn t-shirt from ebay it's cool...

God there are some real w***ers on here.....knocking the older generation like that.
You ought to be f***ing ashamed of yourselves.
My father would be turning in his grave(if he hadn't been cremated ).
I ain't far off being one of them either.

Not that I have knocked the older generation but I notice that you haven't had a swipe at those bemoaning the younger generations.

So could the London MPs who claim a second home.

In what way,I don't trawl the net every single minute of the day looking for things to blame the "Tory cunds" for,I do have a life outside of the "hol".
If the younger generation piss me off over something then I will say,I have children and grandchildren, they are my concern.
Not some middle class six form revolutionary.

I don't trawl the net every single minute of the day. Haven't you heard of rss feeds. And to be honest, Tory cundery is so ubiquitous it's not hard to find examples.

But you still haven't condemned those that say all youngsters are self entitled w***ers. (I paraphrase)

We can vote out our government. It is the government who get to decide the direction the UK goes in...well it will in 2019.

The very core of the EU is undemocratic.....and what this shows is that we have plenty of people happy to go along with that.

I vote for an MP to represent me, and make decisions on my behalf. If that MP is the leader of the party and they win an election, they get to be PM. If they are PM, one of the decisions they'll normally make is nominating the British representative on the EU commission.

I also vote for an MEP who represents me and votes on my behalf on all laws that the commission come up with, and vote for the President and endorse the commissioners and can block appointments.

If you don't like the make up of the commission, vote for a different MEP who shares your position, or vote for a party who will nominate a different representative?

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Very pleased that May has shown her hand in regard to the 3mill and that they can stay. It shows goodwill and a desire for the talks not to get spiteful. Although showing one's hand no matter what is apparently a terrible way to do business according to some.

Europe's most senior official has criticised the UK's offer to EU nationals after Brexit, claiming it could "worsen the situation" for them.

Mrs May still trying to manage a hard brexit despite the election results.

Years of this ahead it would be much better to confirm EU citizens and our ex-pats situations as they are.

First of all f*** off I don't have to answer to you,but secondly not all youngsters are,I have four children they all work live their lives and generally have a decent life.
They don't expect anything for nothing and work hard for the things they do want(with the occasional help from the bank of dad),maybe it's the way they were bought up with no sense of entitlement....

So you're happy for other posters to slag off the entire younger generation but take issue if someone slags off the entire older generation. As long as that's clear.
