Once again, the police have done a good job. Let us see how long it takes before people are saying that these terrorists should not be held unless they are promptly charged. I know people will also blame the Iraq war, but what about those countries that did not take part that have been attacked anyway. Your damn right they shouldn't. But these terrorists will be charged because they are just that. It's the ones that are secretly arrested, on no charge, using secret evidence and detained indefinetely that bring the complaints. Luckily so far the police have been pretty reasonable in who they charge and are using their now extremist powers appropriately... for now.

I find alot of the views on this topic quite disturbing but totally understandable.....the problem is you never stop to question the way in which the media presents this whole terrorist issue. Ever since 9/11 all i hear coming out of the TV and radio is pro Western Government propaganda, and their just stoking the fires even more and getting everybody over excited to meet whatever self fulfilling plans they have for us all...........all your anger and views are just a result of what your being told and how its presented and yet you've no idea if what your being told is really true. People die everyday in this country through road accidents- now if the media presented this in the same hysterical way you lot would all be out burning cars!

You have a point .. if Bushw***er the texas ranger would talk as much about "the war against cars" than he is about "the war against turr" then we'd indeed be changing our views about driving.

" So Bubbs, me old mate, you're telling us that Madrid, Bali, Istanbul, 9/11 etc etc didn't happen, that it was all a mis representation and that we were naive to believe it. Of course, 9/11 was Bush's fault...I forgot. They knew that by doing it he couldn't resist retaliating so if he hadn't been in power in the first place it wouldn't have happened. How stupid of me not to have seen that before. If only Mr Tickle had been elected President. Thanks Bubbs for finally shedding light on how stupid we all are in believing that these things are happening. As ever, the big, horrible, nasty West is the cause of it all. Makes me wonder why we don't pack up and go and live, work and claim benefit somewhere nice instead. How are we to know if you ever get caught up in one of these propaganda stories called a terrorist attack? I don't know who to believe any more.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Obviously, you must be exempting yourself from the above statement as the one higher being posting on this site whom also happens to read all that is truthful. How arrogant! By the way, where do you get your 'truthful' information? The 'Beano'? Well Bubbs, tell me which single car crash killed and injured 2-3000 people. That is one reason why these events are so awful it is the impact of thousands of innocent people being killed in an instant. If a car crash of that size occurred, you can bet that the press and the public would back some changes. Risk is a part of everyday life and most people understand that. When you travel, or go about your everyday life, mechanical failure or human error is a risk you must take. What has been happening in these mass casualty atrocities is not a normal part of everyday life. Jolly Stef mentions Bush. Unfortunately, no US president has had the balls to deal with deaths on US roads. Mind you, do you see the European parliament actually doing something about road and auto safety. Not much. Across the European Union there are about the same number of death as in the USA. I would love to see politicians bite rather than bark on this issue. Edited by NickinOX (02 Apr 2004 1:22pm)
