Bit of classic tabloid overeporting, given three families have threatened to withdraw their kids for one day, and they got a quote from one mother about 'gender nonsense'.

Its good for kids to learn about the complexities of difference, and that there is nothing wrong with being a bit different.

I didn't really know about Transgender until I was 15, when I met someone, in my fathers AA group, who had being realigned.

But why force 'transgender issues' on a four year old?

It's bonkers. Bernie Grant, GLC, Hackney Council, retro '80s bonkers.

There are some ideas so wrong that only a very progressive and enlightened person could believe in them.

As LBC discussed only 2 weeks ago, the new term of 'Hetroflexible'. It means you can get a 'brojob' (yes it means that) or more and you can go back to your Mrs without a guilty conscience.

Well i never. Suck one cock and everyone calls you a poof!

I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think.

Why teach four year olds anything.

One of us has missed my point Jamie, i said BROjob. Means a fella can do the business for you and you're labelled Hetroflexible, not bi!
I'm gonna stay tuned into the world i still believe in. Men like women, men like men and women, men like men. Hetrosexual, bi-sexual or homosexual.

All got a little bit too complicated imho.

I presume this is an observation about sending kids to school to early.

I saw that. Each their own, I don't see a problem if its consenting adults. Hetroflexible is quite funny and accurate for a lot of people, more so than bi. Kind of wonky rather than straight or bent.

I think humans basically are sexual, and into sexual pleasure, and that for most people its a sliding scale of preferences, options and fetishes. Probably a minority have a fixed sexuality (hetro, gay, Tg etc) but everyone else is just into getting off.

Thing is, transgender people make up a tiny proportion of the population so they are insignificant in that sense.
This is just jolly old lefty/liberalism among teachers rearing it's head.

I don't think it is. To be honest I'm still getting my head around the fact that someone can have a dick but 'identify' as a woman, and that it's an actual thing, but if it is a thing then the sooner the general population accepts it as such the better. That can only happen through education. It's better to grow up understanding the complexities of gender than get to adolescence and suddenly find out everything you thought you knew was wrong and form prejudices about it.

If it's done in the right way then I wouldn't have a problem with my kid learning about it at aged 4.

When I was 4 all I was interested in was running about until I was dizzy and eating chips. Even at 14 I was more interested in Nintendo than fanny. Kids can be brought up to be accepting without needing to know the (literal) ins and outs.

Germaine Greer is right.

She said: “Just because you lop off your d**k and then wear a dress doesn't make you a ******* woman. I’ve asked my doctor to give me long ears and liver spots and I’m going to wear a brown coat but that won’t turn me into a ******* cocker spaniel.

“I do understand that some people are born intersex and they deserve support in coming to terms with their gender but it’s not the same thing. A man who gets his d**k chopped off is actually inflicting an extraordinary act of violence on himself.”

Optimistic as ever
