Because I think it's important players are given the opportunity. I was against the signing of Sako for that reason. How many players do you want in the same position realistically I'm with you on Sako, but Townsend would be a real improvement to the squad.

as far as im aware there was nothing in the news about the Townsend deal before it was mentioned in this report so idve thought it was unlikely that the french paper had got that from the internet?

If (and it is a huge if) we sign townsend then Sako will go. A few clubs would be interested in him and with him also going to the ACON as well as Yala he will be 4th choice back up. WIth KaiKai's development and Pards saying he will be there or there abouts next season I don't see us keeping hold of him especially as he is rumoured to be on biggish wages.

Townsend will actually score goals from a wide position which our current wingers don't really do too regularly. He is direct, and while the skills and tricks are nice to watch, you need someone who can get results. Will be happy if this comes off Edited by Jaha (28 Jun 2016 6.23pm)

I'm gonna love this signing. Very impressed with his attitude when signing for Newcastle in the relegation battle. Why that twonk Woy Hodgson didn't take him to the euros is baffling. Still, if he did and performed well he'd be off to a higher club than us.
