Looks like Gayle is going to Newcastle for 10m and Townsend coming to us for 13m, but in seperate deals. I think it's on! Shame to lose Gayle tho

Shame to lose Gayle tho Great move for all involved, only reason Gayle will drop to the championship is for a club as big as Newcastle. If that means we essentially get AT for 3m that's a great bit of business
Another exciting pre-season ....... |

it is a great deal AP doesn't rate gayle as he only plays him now and then and he has had injury worries and Townsend for a winger score goals good business if it happens and with the French keeper hopefully that's good and early signings in transfer window sensible

I had to laugh at a comment I read today in the nufcblog:- "It illustrates the state of football today when a player leaves Newcastle United for Crystal Palace and a player stays at a club for a very short six months before he’s off to a smaller club." We may well be a smaller club but we are mixing with the big boys and will be playing Manchester City and Liverpool this season and not the likes of Brentford and Burton

SKY SPORTS BREAKING NEWS Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle is in talks regarding a possible move to Newcastle United. The 25-year-old signed a new-three year deal at Selhurst Park in April but has struggled to hold down a regular first team place. We understand he has now agreed personal terms and could become part of a deal which sees Andros Townsend travelling in the opposite direction to Selhurst Park.

I can see this happening... And Dwight would be a fool to turn it down.

Would be a great move for Gayle and Newcastle. He will tear up the Championship with a team like Newcastle. But it must mean we are very confident of getting in at least one - and possibly two - more striker(s). It would be inconceivable to let him go unless we had more than just Wickham and Campbell.

My thinking exactly. If we are gonna let him go then got to have at least 2 strikers coming in throught the door.

So that's them two starting up front against West Brom then!
