Update your IE Hoof, IE8 is well out of date the latest version is 11. I very much doubt that if you have a paid protection that anything will get past it. Malwarebytes is a good call although we use it professionally and it rings up quite a lot of false positive alerts. staffie got infected a lot, and tended to throw the kitchen sink at it, so has tried every cure known to man. I would, if you're not sure simply reload the OS as it seems that you don't have much to protect or save on your current system.
