I was at Wembley on Saturday and got involved with the guy who was abusing Eddie Izzard at the top of his voice Telling Eddie 'he was a F@ck*ng disgrace' amongst other things on the steps walking up to the turnstiles.

The t*** who was in his 20's was off his face, very aggressive, with wild eyes and acting extremely hyper (so may have been under the influence of something else as well? Also he wanted to take the world on including me as I told him to 'Bugger Off & grow up'.

This guy then changed his mind about lamping me and went on his way.

Other fans then surrounded Eddie and he was chatting and posing for photos.

Eddie said he is used to people reacting to him in that sort of way and it was no surprise to him at all. He didn't react or provocate the t*** at all nor was he particularly phased by it either.

Eddie was in trousers and wearing a Palace shirt by the way no high heels at all!

I cant lie when i see a man dressed as eddie my brain need time to adjust. Hes a fan too though and so to behave like his buffoon did is wrong. There is always one to ruin things.

Before I say this I just want to state that I think the fella who abused Eddie is wrong.

However, if he wasn't Eddie Izzard 'the celebrity', and just a run of the mill cross dresser walking up Park Road or the Holmesdale pre match in colours, high heels and a mini skirt how many people on here would actually be so forgiving eh! Not saying people would verbally abuse him/her but I think they're attitudes would be different and more of a 'what do you expect dressing like that and going to a football match!'

Just saying ...

What is a 'tun of the mill cross dresser'?

Are trannies and what not categorised?

You are not wrong KAOS tho it says more about us than the individual. People feel they know Eddie and so are fair to him he is familiar to them and fame brings gravitas also. An ordinary anonymous person would be attacked often as people would know they could get away with it. Sad but true yes.

Yawn

He wasn't 'dressed up' when the boozed up pond-life abused him. He was just wearing the same as everyone else.

Still, what does he expect dressing like that and going to a football match! Palace shirt, jeans and trainers, how outrageous.

Pretty sure he applied a bit schlap for the big day tho! Might do the same myself for 1st game of the season and see how I get on! Keep it locked and we can discuss again in August

Not me. I'd feel proud to support a club that was inclusive enough that someone felt comfortable going to the game dressed how they want.

I certainly wouldn't be thinking 'what are they doing here.'

It seems that the people contributing to this thread have almost exclusively stated that there is nothing wrong with a male supporter going to a match dressed as a woman yet in the threads about away supporters sitting with the home supporters the feeling seems to be that it is understandable if they get beaten up.

Quite, the whole tolerance of a bully mentality is the issue. If a bloke wants to wear a dress, slap on make up or turn up wearing fancy dress, its up to them.

The people with who take an issue with cross dressers (and people who appear different) are the ones with the issues, they should maybe think first about resolving their problems, such as why they're so f**king angry all the time.

Free the self from the constraints of others expectations, and you'll liberate your self.

Being in the wrong end is against the rules whereas I have seen no rules against being a transvestite.

Personally I quite enjoy banter with away supporters but I get truly irate if they 'give it large' when in the home end. Can't say I have ever had a transvestite give it large in my face. Mind you there was that time with a transsexual in Borneo...
