"Crystal Palace have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign Belgium striker Christian Benteke. The clubs have agreed a fee of £27m plus add-ons that could see the deal rise to above £30m. The 25-year-old is travelling to London to have a medical and finalise personal terms. Benteke, who joined the Reds for £32.5m in July 2015 under former boss Brendan Rodgers, told reporters: 'When I first heard about a possible deal, the HOL thread on me had only reached 120 pages. I was a bit underwhelmed. But this morning my agent phoned and said that they had hit 300 pages - I packed up my boots, doused my Merseyside house in gasoline and flicked a match behind me as I jumped in my car and headed to SE25.'"
