It is such a pisser we can't be confident in Wickham's physical reliability.

If we could be, it'd be mental to get Benteke in. Strikers are so expensive and I'm willing to wager anyone that a full season of Benteke and Wickham would not be a million miles apart in terms of combined goals and assists.

The money would arguably be better spent elsewhere. If we got Benteke in he would probably HAVE to play for financial reasons (30m asset on 140k a week depreciating fast in the reserves just cannot happen) and I hate that.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

TRANSFER GOSSIP: Crystal Palace prepare £30m bid for Liverpool striker Benteke , for Liverpool striker Christain Beneteke, according to reports.

After having a bid £20m for West Brom Saido Berahino turned down, the Daily Mail reports that the Eagles have lodged another bid for the Reds' Belgian striker.

Last time round there was £27m on the table, but the Eagles have increased that to £30m.

Boring? With the club said to be on the verge of making perhaps its most momentous decision to splash out £30m+ that could potentially propel us from bottom third of table to top third of table ... or ... cripple us if it all goes horribly wrong.

I'm glued to this site and several others trying to glean any news about how negotiations on this deal are going. This could make or break us. Sadly, Berahino at £25m is imho only likely to break us. Let him go to Stoke.

I actually think it's fairly low risk. Bar a terrible, career-ending injury his value isn't going to depreciate much unless he is utterly, utterly woeful which all evidence suggests is very unlikely.
