I played triangle in a reggae band, I used to stand at the back and ting.

Rod Stewart used to get awful flatulence when Ronny Wood played an 8 string guitar.

He called it 'Mandolin Wind'

Ironically Rod Stewart got turned down by Joe Meek.I've an album called The Alchemist of Pop.Each track is by a different Joe Meek artist, quite surprising the names on it.

Is this the album?

Not too many "top names" on the list (my opinion) so Rod was probably done a favour by Joe Meek

I saw C&D about 3/4 years ago (O2 Indigo) and the crowd were mostly in their 50's, blokes, ex skinheads/punks, p1ssed and a little bit on the violent side. It was all moshing and lager showers. I hid at the back.

Hoof Hearted,
Yep that's the album. There's quite a few top 5's in there,Emile Ford Honeycombs Johnny Leyton. The Outlaws was another Chas Hodges band if I remember correctly.Don't have access to a laptop at the moment as out of the country so having to rely on a fading memory.Just goes to show though with Joe Meek turning down Rod and quite a few labels giving The Beatles the thumbs down that possibly many good bands must have fallen by the wayside.I've a pal who was in the last band signed by Joe Meek. His career lasted exactly one week before Joe shot himself. He then gave up music and got a "proper" job.

Do any of you remember them playing at the Palace?

I think I am right in saying they were the pre-match entertainment before playing Bolton first game of the season 1998-1999.
