If that is how desperate we have become lets stick with Wickham, Campbell and Lapardo.

And that would really be a statement of intent, he's bench material at best, championship starting XI, no more

Unfortunately we can't but I agree with the sentiment. We simply have to buy or loan at the very least a striker. We really have messed around for a long time regarding strikers.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

I agree isnt at the level we need, but I dont think there is any sign we have bid for him, at least not yet? I think Palace showed their ambition by bidding for highly rated strikers like Batshuayi ( who preferred Chelsea), Benteke (who seemingly prefers to stay at Pool) Sakho and Berahino. There is huge competition for the signatures of these players and no wonder its taking time to get one of these kinds of players across the line. It may well be that we will have ultimately go to for promising players but PL unproven strikers like Haller or Babacar

As I keep asserting, a certain class of striker is sought after by clubs deemed far more "Sexy" than ourselves and as such it is difficult to get certain deals "Over the line".

At the end of the day, although we reached the FA Cup Final we lost, we had a dire second half of the season finishing in 15th place, we play in a stadium badly in need of development before crowds of @ 24,000.What I suppose is in our favour is that we are a London club.

This is the reality of the situation - despite our best efforts to attract players of a particular standard we might of necessity have to turn to back-up options much one suspects to the disappointment of supporters.

We can offer as much as we like and clubs can accept (Or not !) but at the end of the day we can be in competition with what might be deemed far more "Sexy" clubs and players can be tempted elsewhere.Frustrating I know for the club and fans alike.

Here's one solution, then: Perhaps you could prance around in stockings and briefs to "sexify" the place a little?

Spot on. Deals are taking a lot longer as we are setting the bar high. If they don't come off the bar can be set lower. The clock is undoubtedly ticking but this seems to be true for many clubs around us. 2 attacking players will be coming. Also our other signings are looking like very shrewd moves. My housemate a huge Spammers fans is positively crying over the Tomkins move. Townsend has looked sharp pre season and you don't get voted best Ligue 1 goalie last season if you aren't good with the gloves.

A point well made Willo. Clearly, at least one and maybe two good strikers will be coming in before the end of the window, and hopefully beforebthe season starts but until then we will just hqve to exercise patience...

FFS be patient, do you not think that SP and his band of men are doing everything possible to bring strikers to this club. What you read in the media isn't all created by agents and no doubt there are many things going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. It's the Palace, nothing is ever straightforward.

Bring back Brolin

Ulloa career goal ratio 0.36. Which is well decent. I watched him in all the games v Palace (live, not on tv). The guy is a menace and great in the air.
Would do a decent job for us, wouldn't cost a great deal, is a big upgrade on Campbel for sure. Is a no brainer for me.

VOTING OUT - Brexit will allow Britain to embrace the Commonwealth and be GREAT again
