Now saying 60ish killed but the reports of shootings are uncorroborated. Many more injured of course. Islamist attack are the early reports.

My mates mother in law was there when it all happened, she was running for her life as people were getting shot all around her. Apparently she had to step over bodies to get into her hotel/apartment Edited by Ouzo Dan (14 Jul 2016 11.54pm)

70 dead now and hundreds of injured. Guns and grenades subsequently found in the truck also. Reported to have driven through upto 2km of crowds. Edited by Stuk (15 Jul 2016 12.32am)

At least 80 now killed. Heinous attack that has broken the hearts of many families affected. What should've been a family fun-packed, national holiday for the people of Nice has now become a scene of utter carnage caused by an act of pure evil. The simplicity of hijacking a large truck and driving it at speed through crowds of people is a horrific new jihad strategy of attack.
