Not under Allison - nor at Celtic (where admittedly they had much better options)

Never played under Allison, he was a number 9.

Oh Yogi. Seem to remember his home debut versus Everton where he got sent off for flattening Whittle (then Everton) near the dug-outs. Great days.

Ok the memory may be a little blurred but looking back at the stats he was described as a forward . Willie Wallace who he joined us with from Celtic though was described as a Centre Forward .So we can take it he wasn't a number 9
I also seem to recall him in the 11 shirt which would have put him down as a wide player but then Old Bert did some strange things with formations and numbers back then
Some said he was a HEAD of his times, until we got relegated .

And we still need a striker

Stuart Imlach.

Not serious about that, just wanted to show my age.

Rogers
Hilaire
Peter Taylor
Lombardo
Zaha

But some other great names have been mentioned, no one has ever come close to Mark Lazarus for goal celebrations. Saw Colin Taylor score with a rocket against us in the FA Cup up at Walsall. Yogi Hughes scored some cracking goals from wide positions - a brace against Sheffield United I think.

Great memories.

I can remember an amazing free kick he scored against Leeds Utd in a league cup tie in 1968,he hit the ball so hard.

Really, he didn't sign for us until 1971.

There really is only 2

Taylor and Rodgers

Vince and Zaha were / are fun to watch ,both couldn't finish their dinner .

Jimmy Carter wasnt bad , we sold him early , he went on to do well at Millwall and Liverpool

He was found out too quickly by the opposition who soon realised that he shied away from tough tacklers and even a strong glare would put him off.

Scored the goal of the season though
