Should've done our homework on him properly instead of making a speculative bid and then walking away when it's turned down. If we knew more about him we'd have raised our offer, instead we didn't and didnt want to risk it.

Surely we done our home work by ascertaining we wanted to make a bid on him for a certain value that our homework told us he was worth compared to the money available and other tranfser business being undertaken.

Not sure I understand why becuase our offer was turned down and that we didn't up it. Means that we didn't do our homework?

Who did we buy for that position? Nobody? Therefore if he was our main target, and I didn't hear of many other def mid bids, then we would've rated him more the £8mil or wherever it was. Or did we rate him slightly better than Jordan Mutch.

We then hoped on Wilshere and didn't get him for whatever reason but got Flamini who really didn't play till December.
