I agree with you. We are far better at keeping possession than we used to be, but we do need to find a way of breaking down stubborn opponents. I don't think England are that bad. I can remember it was not that long ago that we would come out with all guns blazing only to run out of ideas after 20 minutes and resort to hoofing it.

Spain won the World Cup by dominating possession while scoring less than a goal a game. Greece won the Euros a while back with a similar scoring record and a far less technically sound strategy. I found both as boring as f***.

I understand why a manager may opt for the "not losing" strategy, particularly in the qualifying stages. I hope they understand that I will choose not to watch because I have something - anything - else to do at the time.

If the FA / manager and players get serious about playing football, instead of just going through the motions of a game - squeaking past lesser opponents and losing to better, similar and some lesser opponents - then I may tune back in. Maybe. This team is a laughing stock.

As I have mentioned before, the 5-1 in Germany was the most recent England performance of which to be proud. That was 15 years ago last week.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Watching England at Football is like "enjoying" Christmas.

As a young boy I looked forward to it and in 1966 we won the World Cup but since then it has gone downhill.

Like with Christmas I grew up realised Santa Claus didn't exist and that the whole thing was done for commercial reasons.

Footballers that play for England are overpaid primadonnas that continually let us down.

Oh here's the cliche machine in full swing

Although I do completely agree especially after watching the Olympics.

Did anyone see the lad that got Silver in Taekwondo? He was in floods of tears saying he let everyone down, and i'd imagine he only gets by on some small lottery funding. But he still came away with a silver medal. Our England losers wouldn't get to sniff a medal in their lifetimes

Football. They only place where they can hate you when you win, or when you lose, and yet can treat you like a hero for stealing a draw.

I presume you didn't enjoy Pulis much at Palace.

Not really an appropriate comparison.

But, for the record, Pulis' teams (including while at Selhurst) are horrible to watch. They're at the opposite end of the spectrum from Spain's / Arsenal's 90-minute training ground keep-ball exercise.

Only Barca "perfected" tiki taka, in that they had the players who would slice you open once they'd run you around for a bit. It's a bit like a bullfight: there's some strutting and ole-ing but, in the end, the bull is going to be stabbed repeatedly to death by the matador.
