Top Ten Sources of Dudgeon

I'm a Dudgeon addict.

There. i've said it.

That took a lot of soul searching.

I've been hooked on Dudgeon (street names: Dudge, sanctimony, curtain twitcher, leaderpage, comments section) for years.

Dudgeon is manufactured in the media, and mimics the pomposity reflex generated in the Nimby's Oblongata sectionof the brain.

it gives you a rush of self importance that's incredibly addictive.

You start out thinking you can control it, but pretty soon you're in its grip.

I must confess, I start the day by checking the Internet (Twitter, The Daily Mail, The Guardian) and tuning in to an LBC phone in, just looking for things to get angry about.

I knew I'd hit rock bottom when I found I\d typed a long rant about retired referee Mike Riley, in relation to a long forgotten football match of no real consequence.

I've just realised I'm grinding my teeth over events where I have no control and they don't really matter.

Are there any other dudgeon addicts out there?

Until you've experienced High Dudgeon.... dudgeon just doesn't cut it.

My Dad was a High Dudgeon Guru.

Rover Car, Driving Gloves, Trilby, comfortable shoes, stereogram playing Mantovani etc.

He operated a no tolerance regime for litter in his cul-de-sac and woe betide anyone that parked more than 9" off the kerb.

Thankfully he died about 8 years ago!
