I read too much into it? This coming from someone whose whole premise here is that he tuned into ITV news, saw one too many non white faces out or the 3 or so people on camera, decided that there had to be liberal bias quota scheme behind their presence rather than ability, and that people watching might think it was 'foreign telly' despite the fact ITV news presenters all talk with cut glass English accents.

There are an awful lot of white newscasters on the news. I actually watched yesterday and everyone was white. Am I complaining about that? No.

I already tried to take this conversatoion in a direction of commonality rather than difference, I repeat:

"There is a lot in common between say the criminisation of certain words aka hate speech on the left and the intrusive nature of governments on the right. They all seek to control the population and it would serve people on both sides well to align themselves to that rather than be at loggerheads. As it stands it's easy to buy peoples votes on the cheap by appealing to their prejudices rather than holding governments to account. Of course this is rarely examined because people are so fixated on each other rather than bothering to find commonality."

Once again. This thread was about politics and TV news bias and all that it encompasses. You have deliberately made it about something else, as any unbiased person will see by reading it back.

what I really hear you saying is that a person can't make an observation about the current state of a country he has lived in from birth without being called a racist.

And you wonder why people voted Brexit and Trump.

Anyone would think this thread was about you personally.

I haven't in any way told you that you can't say anything. You've said what you want and I've reacted to it how I want to.

I'm just disappointed that despite all being palace fans we have these 'foreign country' comments when talking about non whites. These individuals have likely lived their whole lives here too and have british accents, so no serious person watching the news would think them foreign, indeed it would be an insult to do so. Apparently it is more convenient to tell me how I'm supposed to react than to take my view for what it is. That of course is not how life works though.

In any case it would be better if I'd not contributed to begin with. I'm going to stick with the game threads from now on. Everyone is entitled to their views but i'm not sure that I'm benefiting from General. There's something depressing about it and nobody ever seems to gain anything or shift on anything in either direction so it's pointless really. One less foreign face to worry about now my friend .
